"Wow that's a mess."

"Yeah. It really is."

I saw Bren bit her lips. I smiled at her. It's okay don't worry. I hold my phone tightly.

"So what are you going to do?"

"I-i dunno."

I tucked my hair and let out a sigh.

"How's my brother?"

She smile at me and move the phone. My smile widen when I saw Franc who was watching TV.

"Franc!"

He look at me. His face lit up but he then show me his annoyed look. I laughed.

"What?"

"You missing me right?"

His forehead crease and he was pushing the phone away. He looks lively compare the day I leave. Bren laughed and face herself to the phone.

"I think the therapy is working. He is getting better."

"That makes me happy. Thank you for taking care of him Bren."

"You don't really have to thank me. I don't have anything to do so. Anyway the doctor said it was quiet a miracle for Franc to survive. He really is getting better but they still have to monitor him. Maybe few months later we can no longer stay in the hospital."

"Thankgod."

"Yeah. The doctors really take care of Franc. I can say that they are really doing their best and btw..."

She suddenly lower her voice and show me I meaningful smile.

"They are handsome. Ohgod everyday is a heaven for me. And you see there is this doctor who wanted to go out with me like ohmygod."

I laughed so hard. Bren act like a giddy teenage girl. Good for her.

"Did you go out with him? I think you did right?"

"Ofcourse! Like who don't Ran? He is handsome and professional. Like hell he is my ideal man. By the way you want to her after we gon out? I know you don't want to hear it but hahaha i'll share it-"

"Hey!"

She was laughing so loud. Bren is just so. I also laugh.

"You really acting like we are not in same age. Come on! Don't tell me you don't like that man who you are living with."

She rolled her eyes before she sarcastically snorted. I touch the back of my neck. I do like him.

"Especially you are a big fan of their group. You don't tell me you don't like him cause you see I won't believe-"

My forehead crease and my brow raise.

"I never said I don't like him tho.."

I'm confused did I tell her I don't like Hobi. I don't remember saying that.

"you-wait? You are? You like him? Ohgod you like him?!! The father of that child? Ohmygod!"

"Shhh! Franc will hear you!"

She look at Franc's direction before she lower her voice. I shake my head.

"So what happen next? Did you tell him? Ohgod tell him!!!"

"You out of your mind? I do like him but he was out of my league. Just look at me. I'm a surrogate mom and he was at the top with everyone. And I already expect that his family don't even like me. I do understand it... I do Bren."

She went silent after I said those. Her mouth twitched.

"You did tell me about the situation there. I forgot. If his parents doesn't like surrogate. So what will happen to you and the baby? Will they stop the pregnancy-"

"I won't let that happen. For pete sake I don't care if they don't like the baby or me. I'll keep the baby."

"Are you sure about that? Ran you're a surrogate mom. There's a possibility that the baby has another mom. Did you talk to the Doctor who is the real mom?"

That make me stiffened. My other hand was shaking. It is. They are just using my body.

"Ran?"

I was surprised by Bren. I was lost for a minute.

"Uh yeah! I almost forgot. I should ask Joe about this."

I saw Bren how she sighed. She smile at me a little. Her eyes shows she was worried. I shake my head. It's okay.

"So your going home if they cancel this?"

That suddenly make me think of Hobi. That actually means I won't see him anymore. I slowly nod.

"Maybe..... they'll send me- i'll go ahmm yes Bren I think i'll go home."

"You don't sound-"

I was surprise when someone suddenly grab my phone. It was Hobi. He turned my phone off.

"Anong uuwi ang sinasabi mo?"

He was staring at my phone. He suddenly look at me. He was mad. I bit my lips before I look away.

"Ran tingnan mo ako. Hindi ka uuwi."

I look at him. He was sternly looking at me before he slowly throw my phone in my bed. Out of frustration I stand up.

"Why I can't go home?!"

"Nagtatrabaho ka sa akin kaya ako ang masusunod!"

He shouted. I was breathing so fast. I look away and close my eyes to calm myself. I open my eyes and look at him again. He was looking to the other direction but he still looking mad. I saw how his hands turned into fist.

"Hindi ka uuwi-"

"Hobi I still have a family outside Korea. Why I can't go home? I know how you don't have a choice for making me live in this place. We all know that this surrogacy was just an accident because you've never wanted a child. Your family doesn't want a surrogate one and you obviously don't like it too!"

"Sinong nagsabi na ayaw ko?! Sabihin mo sa akin. Kailan ko yan sinabi sayo?"

"You did said you don't have any choice but to accept it."

He look at me. His eyebrows are meeting. He look confused.

"Choice? Oo sinabi kong wala akong choice pero wala akong sinabing ayaw ko! Kung yung pamilya ko ang problema dito wala na sila dito. Ayaw man nila o gusto? Sa akin pa rin ang desisyon."

I feel so lost. Wait isn't this an accident right? He wasn't the person who gave me the surrogate card.

"Bu-but it was an accident-"

"Hindi ako nag bigay ng card pero ako nag bigay ng semen ko tangna anak ko yan! Hindi ka uuwi."

He said that before he leave. My eyes are big and my mouth are wide open. Did I hear it right? My face are on heat and I was left dumbfounded. How to unhear it?
