Bulletproof 53

"Ran."

I woke up when someone was patting my shoulder. I saw my brother standing beside me. I sit properly before looking at Von. I fixed the comforter to cover his body. My eyes landed to Dawun who was sleeping.

"Who is she?"

Franc asked. I can feel like he had already hint. Franc is smart. I stand up to get a towel to cover Dawun who was sleeping.

"My friend."

I said while covering Dawun. Franc's jaw tightened. I know you're mad since the first I came home. I let out a sighed. He was mad but he didn't asked about it. He didn't ask why I was pregnant when I came home.

"That guy. Why is he staying outside?"

He asked. I touched my nape. I don't know what to answer since I don't know why Hobi is still outside.

"I-i don't know."

I said before looking away. Should I tell him?

"Isn't he Hoppy's father?"

See? He knows. I look at Dawun who was still sleeping. I nodded while not looking.

"Now. Isn't it time you tell me what really happened? I wait enough."

He seriously said before sitting in the tools while looking at Von. I know him. Even if I tell him he will still get angry.

"Franc-"

"I'm not dumb Ran."

I gulped. I hate it when my little brother will get angry. I bit my lips before I start talking.

"You should have tell me!"

He was silent the whole time I was speaking not until I was done. I look at Dawun who was still asleep even Franc was getting a little loud.

"If I tell you I knew you will decline about the idea-"

"I will!! I will decline Ran!"

He said. I was breathing so fast seeing my brother's face being red and looking so mad. I went closer to him.

"It was for your own good!!"

I said. He shake his head. I don't know what to do. Franc is always calm. Something like this is new for me. I don't know what to do.

"It's the equivalent of selling your own body Ran!"

I closed my eyes when he shout. It was for you.

"I've seen how much you suffered getting pregnant. I've seen you suffering inside the ER. Damn it! You should have left me dead!"

I wasn't thinking when my hand landed into Franc's face. I was surprise of what I did. I covered my mouth.

"I-i'm sor-sorry..."

I said and raise my hand to touched his face but he stepped back. I never used my hand to hurt my brother not until now. I cried when a tear fall from his eye.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

I've been saying this a lot of times. I shake my head while crying. I didn't mean to hurt you.

"Ran?"

I heard Dawun's voice. Franc started running to the door's direction. I also run to follow him. When I go outside the door Franc was running in the hall way away from me.

"Ran?"

"Franc!!!"

I shouted. I'll probably wake all the patients here but I don't care. I shout his name again but my brother didn't look back. I combed my hair out of frustration before covering my mouth to stopped myself from sobbing.

"Ran."

I heard Hobi's voice. I was about to go inside the room when he grab my hand and pulled me closer. I was surprised of what he did.

"Anong nangyari?"

He was  looking at me intently. After he said those I burst out crying. I always cry like this. So childish! So fckn childish!

"Ya-yah~"

Hobi said. I wipe my tears before looking at him.

"Ano ang nangyari?"

He asked again. I fixed my hair. Stupid Franc making her sister cry!

"I-I just have a fight with my brother."

I said before marching to the door. I was about to spin the knob when I stopped and look at Hobi. He sit back to the chair. He crossed his arms before slowly closing his eyes. I open the door a little to see if Von is okay. When I saw how Dawun fixed the comforter I closed the door again.

"Hobi."

I said. He didn't move. He probably sleep the whole night. I grab my phone to call Franc before walking away. I know Franc will go home. He will stay in his room every time he is mad. Not with that girl. My jaw tightened. He'll comeback.

"Please Franc answer me."

I said while standing in front of the vending machine. When I saw my reflection I fastly fixed myself. Did I just face Hobi looking like this? I grab 3 coffee in can for Hobi, Dawun, and for me.

"Bakit ba kasi ako dito inasign ni doktora!? Nakakainis! Umalis na nga ako dito noon tapos binalik ulit! Ano ba talaga hah?!"

My forehead crease when a korean nurse went to grab some drinks in the vending machine. I walk away while she was still mumbling something. She's too noisy to be a nurse. I dialed Franc's number again while walking back to Von's room. I let out a sighed when I saw Hobi.

"You'll get your neck ruined."

I said while shaking my head. I stand in front of him before touching his cheek using the coffee. He was surprised when he wake up. Just like before. He look at me.

"Ran?"

I give him the coffee before I sit beside him. We didn't talk. He just opened the can before sipping from it. We both are silent.

"Ahmm-"

"Uhh-"

We both look at each other. I look away. I forgot what I was supposed to say.

"Why you didn't go inside and see Von?"

I said. That's what i've been thinking. He stays outside. He sipped to the coffee before answering.

"Malaki kasalanan ko sa inyo. Hindi ko pa napapatawad ang sarili ko."

I surprisingly look at him. He didn't look back. I wasn't expecting that. We gon silent for a minute.

"Bakit Von?"

He said while not looking. I fake a coughed remembering I get it from the book I love.

"I-i got it from the book I read..."

He let out a laughed. It was related to you.

"He was called by Franc Hoppy since Von means Hope."

He look at me with a surprise look. I let out a soft smile before nodding. It was just like you. He look away before letting out a smile. It was satisfying smile. His eyes sparkles before looking up. His adams apple protruded. He let out a soft laugh. I bit my lips seeing his tears flow out from his eyes.
