Chapter 16: The Power of Two

Tikki and Wayzz arrived at Master Fu's just in time to see him return the monkey, ram, and moth miraculouses to their respective homes within the secret box.

"At last the Moth miraculous has been restored to its proper place." Master Fu said his face showing signs of relief.

"Master, we have the kwagatama." Wayzz said and pointed to Tikki who was holding it up for the man to see.

"Excellent, Tikki and Wayzz!" Master Fu carefully took the kwagatama from Tikki. "All we need now is--"

Before Master Fu could finish his sentence Cat Noir knocked on the door. To Cat's surprise, the door opened on its own.

"Welcome, Adrien." Master Fu said. "I see you've brought Plagg with you."

"Yes, Master," Cat Noir respectfully bowed to Master Fu.

"Now all we need is your kwagatama, Adrien. But first, I need to create the right potion."

"What can I do to help?" Cat Noir asked.

"Come with me."

Master Fu led Cat Noir into his potion room. The two of them worked on the potion corresponding to the directions in the ancient spellbook.

Gabriel Agreste waited anxiously. He had the kwagatama. What now? And where was his son?

Just then, as if to ease his curiosities, Cat Noir led Master Fu into the home of the famous designer.

"We're ready, Father. Do you have my kwagatama?" Cat Noir asked.

"Right here, son." Gabriel placed the yin-yang piece into his son's hand who closed his fist around it gently.

"May we go back to your butterfly room, Mr. Agreste?" Master Fu said, "I wouldn't want to do this out in the open."

"Understood." Gabriel led the group back to the secret room he had.

I wonder how Adrien and Master Fu were able to get in here the first time.

Gabriel couldn't help but wonder what else his son was hiding from him.

But now's not the time.

The group headed one at a time into the butterfly room.

"Everything is ready. We just need Plagg," The ancient Chinese man explained.

"Got it," Cat Noir said, "Plagg, claws in!"

A wave of green magic swept over Cat Noir starting from his feet and going up. It washed over his entire self until he was Adrien Agreste again. Plagg flew out and fell into Adrien's hands.

"Can somebody please tell me what is going on?" The tiny cat kwamii said in an annoyed and tired voice.

Adrien pulled a piece of camembert out of his pocket and gave it to Plagg who wasn't sure if it was a reward or a way to quiet him down.

"We're trying to save Marinette," Adrien said trying to sound less angry than he felt.

There's no use in getting mad at Plagg. He's here now. Let's save Marinette.

"We are going to use the kwagatamas to bring back Marinette. She was destroyed by a cataclysm," Master Fu explained. "The only way to save her is through the power of the ladybug miraculous. However, only Marinette is able to use the sacred power. Without her here we must resort to the power of the kwagatamas."

"Cataclysm?" Plagg asked shocked.

"Yes but don't worry, we'll save Marinette," Adrien said determinedly.

"Ok great but how did you do a cataclysm without me?" Plagg asked, wide-eyed.

Does Plagg even care about Marinette? Adrien wondered.

"It was me," Gabriel said melancholily.

"Let's not worry about this right now. Let's just save Marinette." Adrien said, trying not to make his father feel any worse than he already did.

"Adrien is right. Let's focus," Wayzz said. "Master, please explain."

"Thank you, Wayzz." Master Fu smiled at his kwamii. "Plagg, Tikki, each of you drink this potion." Master Fu pulled out a cookie with a black and red yin-yang pattern on it and handed it to Tikki. He then gave Plagg a circular piece of camembert with the same design.

"This is delicious!" Tikki said happily as she ate.

"Mmmm," Plagg purred.

Master Fu smiled.

"Now, Adrien,"

"Yes, Master Fu?"

"I will let you do the honors."

Adrien couldn't believe his ears.

Master Fu handed Adrien the ladybug kwagatama and the ladybug earrings.

"You know what to do, Adrien," Master Fu gave the boy an encouraging nod.

"I--uh... Thank you," Adrien said to Master Fu just before bowing to him.

I can't believe he is letting me do this. This is a big honor.

Adrien put the kwagatamas together to create a circle. A magical light shot out of them for just a moment. After the light had vanished Adrien noticed that the kwagatamas were now united to form the complete yin-yang. Adrien made it into a necklace using a string Master Fu had given him. He then put the ladybug earrings into his pocket.

Just so the power of Ladybug is with me.

"Plagg, Tikki, unite!" Adrien said with strength in his voice.

Adrien couldn't help but silently plead for some luck.
