dear god: a slam poem

Dear god,

I know I haven't prayed to you in a while,

I know you hear a lot of prayers,

So I just don't bother,

I rather not bother you,

I rather not try to catch your attention with my useless prayer that will never possibly be answered.

I rather not pray for myself, because I don't want to seem greedy,

When I do pray, I pray for others because I wish them the best in life,

I know you have put me through a lot for a reason,

I know you have tested me multiple times more than others,

But I wish I knew the reason for you doing this to me,

I know you have other children to worry about,

But when you do return,

I prepared myself for both heaven and hell,

So whichever I go to, it won't be such a shocker to me.

Maybe then, I will understand what I was to you.

Until then God,

From me.
