Chapter 7: Feb 7

(SHANNON'S POV)

I waited with my sister at the bus stop. I was scrolling through my Instagram feed, she was going through her Tumblr dashboard. "I, uh, talked to Ms. Whitacker yesterday, probably gonna die in house-time this morning," said Michaela, shoving her phone into her blazer and grabbing out her Myki.

"Wha- Why the hell?" I stuttered.

"People were shit yesterday and I wanted to do something about it, so... I did."

"You're a fucking idiot," I groaned, leaning on my hand, "you are definitely gonna die. And I will laugh because you'll be embarrassed," I smirked.

"I hate you."

"Hate you, too. Get your card ready."

"Already got it, dick."

"No need to be so arrogant, bitch."

"Get fucked."

"Already have," I scoffed. We boarded the bus and scanned our Myki's.

"I'm telling Mum."

"Oh no, don't tell Mum!" I teased her.

"Shut the fuck up."

I made my way over to the library and sat over the the graphic novels. I spotted my sister over by the fiction section, pulling out Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets once again. She never charges her Kindle and we don't have all the books at home, so she's constantly borrowing the books from the library and reading them within a week, returning them, then getting the next one. She put the book into her bag and sat down next to Livia and Kasey. Ms. Whitacker ran through awards, bulletin messages and even started up a small activity for the time being until the bell rang.

"Year 7's and 8's, you may go. I need the year 9's to stay behind, please," the younger students filed out and the library became less cramped. Some students moved around to somewhere that there was more space. I'm gonna laugh if Ms. Whitacker straight up says Michaela's name.

"It's been requested by another student that I have a chat to all of you in light of a situation," she continued. I saw a few people look at Michaela, she went completely red and buried her face in her books. I sent her a quick text.

Shannon: Hahahaha sucks to be you

She pulled out her phone to check it and looked up at me with a deadly glare. If looks could kill, I'd be long gone.

Michaela: I'm so going to kill you when we get home tonight

"I expect better from all of you. We have a reputation in Chase and you are all tearing it down. Do none of you ever think about your actions before saying or doing anything? How do you think it affects other people? How many of you know exactly what I'm talking about?" I looked around and a few students put up their hands. I looked over at Michaela, who looked more and more embarrassed. An evil smirk crept onto my face but quickly disappeared when she suddenly left the building. Ms. Whitacker looked a tiny bit worried and I asked if I could leave. She gave me a small nod and I ran out of the library with my books. I could hear her as I left, talking in a more stern tone of voice to the year 9's.

I quickly caught up with my sister. "Hey," I said calmly.

"Go away, Shannon."

"I'm not going to make fun of you. I wanted to make sure you're okay."

"I didn't want her to address my situation directly. At least, not like that. Now, literally everyone in our house knows what's going. It's bad enough most of my classmates saw us together."
