Chapter 8: Feb 8

Mum had a day off today, so I asked her to drop me off on the other side of the school so I could avoid anymore stress. Shannon got the folders for me, and I just got my stuff. I saw Livia, who was once again with Kat. I'm jealous of them, to be honest. At least people aren't constantly judging them for being together. Not that I would've noticed anyway, me being the most unobservant kid in the school.

"Hey Liv. Whatcha doin?" I said.

"I honestly don't know. How are you?" She asked.

"I'm a bit eh, right now, if you get what I mean. Shannon's gone to get the folders for me, I can't deal with walking through everyone at the moment. I don't need a repeat of yesterday."

I opened my locker and put my bag away. I heard someone coming up behind me. I looked back to see Alan, this kid in our Food Tech class. He walked up to us, a smug look on his face. He made some snide remark about me not being attractive enough to even be liked, let alone go on a date.

I'd snapped. I was about to knock him to the ground, but Livia had already gotten to him. She has some serious firepower, that girl.

"No one says that to her. Ever," she whispered under her breath. "You fucking bastard."

God, I was so happy right now.

I hugged her. "Thanks Liv."

She smiled.

Shannon brought the folders back, and I gave them to the teachers. I wanted to seclude myself during care-group, even from Kasey and Shannon, I was too embarrassed to sit near anyone, so I made sure that I was away from everyone.

I ignored people as much as I could.

I couldn't be bothered with anything today, so unless it was absolutely urgent, like a last class to finish an assignment, I didn't do anything. I either played around with my mouse, pretended I was typing stuff, or playing around with my pencil. It wasn't until period 4 that one my teachers actually noticed anything. I was in R.E, and halfway through class, Mr. Kaminski privately asked me to talk to him outside.

I sat against the wall, and Mr. Kaminski kneeled down.

"Michaela. I've noticed that you haven't really been doing anything today, you seem down. Is there anything wrong?" He said.

"People have just been making fun of me a lot the last two days after I went out with someone who no one thought I would get with," I sighed, trying my hardest not to cry, "and I made the mistake of asking Ms. Whitacker to address it yesterday, but the way she worded it... everyone knew she was talking about me, so it's just gotten worse since then."

"Okay, do you want to take a break? Do you want me to get anyone?"

"I just want to sit out here for a bit. Please don't talk to anyone about this."

"I won't, I promise."

"Thank you, sir..."

I walked around by myself at lunch, and I came across Bonnie. She's been bullying me since she first arrived in Victoria about 6 years ago. She has this seething hatred for me which I just don't understand. I never did anything to hurt her. Well, I don't think so anyway. I tried being kind to her, but otherwise did what I always did in primary school. I sat at the front of the classroom, with no friends, chatting with the teacher. I was always the teacher's pet in primary school. Even now, I'm a suck-up, making casual conversation because no one else will talk to me.

"Well look who it is," she said with a snide attitude. "The girl who hooked up with Sheldon Trulli."

"We only went skating, it was barely even a date," I sneered.
