Chapter 16: Feb 17
I woke up around 9am, had a shower, put on a pastel pink jumper, black leggings and a skirt. Shannon must've still been in bed, so I made myself hot chocolate and toast with peanut butter and watched Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a while. At 10:30 I texted Sheldon to say I was on my way to his house, wrote a note and left it on the bench for my Dad to see, because Mum was at work.
I walked out of the house and was on my way to Sheldon's, admiring the town around me before having to focus on the path I was walking on, since I nearly bumped into someone in the process.
I got there around 10:50 and knocked on his door. I waited a few minutes, no answer. I called him.
I stood there as the phone rang. Come on, Sheldon, where are you?
After a minute he finally picked up.
~ Michaela? What's up? ~ He asked in a slightly groggy tone.
"Hey Sheldon, I'm waiting outside."
~ Shit! Sorry, I slept in... ~ He groaned. ~ Be right out! ~
"Alright, see you in minute."
5 minutes passed, and Sheldon opened the door. "Hey, sorry, I was up late last night. Had homework for science." He yawned and rubbed his eye.
We got going, Sheldon brought me around Blue Murry. I may know this town off by heart, but walking with Sheldon made it seem like I was exploring it for the first time. It was a confusing feeling. He took me round to the shopping centre, into a small jewellery shop. "Wait out here, I have a surprise for you."
He came back out a few minutes later, hands behind his back. "Close your eyes, I've been saving up to buy you this."
I felt something slide around my neck.
"Okay, you can open them now," he whispered. As my eyes slid open, I looked down to see a beautiful necklace with a small, heart-shaped sapphire gem.
"Oh my god... Thank you, Sheldon, I love it!" I squeaked. I pulled him into a quick hug. "I need to get you something now."
"You really don't, this is my gift to you..." He said before he kissed me.
"Well, thank you, it's amazing. But I am getting you something once I finally have money.
"No."
"Yes."
"Michaela- "
"I'm doing it."
We walked around town for a bit longer, and we spent a bit of time in the Botanical gardens. We watched trains pass by and the wind blowing the trees. We sat down on a bench in the middle of a garden, his arm around me, my head laid on his shoulder. "Thank you for this, Sheldon. You're the best boyfriend a girl could have..."
"I try," he smirked.
I checked the time, it was around 1:10. I sighed.
"I gotta go, I promised mum I'd be back before 1:30... You want to walk back with me?" I asked.
"Always."
We walked back through Blue Murry, and when we arrived back at my house, I hugged him.
"Thanks, Shel," I said.
"No problem, I always want to spend time with you, mi amor." My darling.
I ran my fingers through his soft, black hair. I reached up, and kissed him. His hands were in my hair. We pulled apart, breathing heavily.
"Alright, I have to go now, see you tomorrow. Love you!" I said, quickly kissed his cheek, and went inside.
"Love you too, Micky!" He yelled. I looked back and he smiled at me before walking back to his own house.
