Chapter 13: Feb 14/Valentines Day <3I woke up at around 9 AM, stretched out, stayed there for another 20 minutes and went to the kitchen to find Shannon and Amy eating cereal, looking very tired. "Sleep peacefully last night, lover-boy?" I asked rhetorically. Shannon stuck the middle finger up at me, I returned the gesture. I poured myself some cereal, made a coffee for my brother and his girlfriend and hot chocolate for myself.
I basically did nothing for the rest of the day except plan my outfit, play a few games and mentally prepare for our picnic.
--
Around 5:00, I started getting ready, knowing that I take forever to apply makeup, and got going to Sheldon's around 5:50. We took our time walking up to the hill. Surprisingly, we were the first ones there, even though I was sure Livia and Kat were getting driven. I laid down the picnic blanket and sat the bag of chocolates off to the side. Sheldon had bought me a small selection of chocolates, so I gave him a block that I had bought last night.
We admired the sunset which was a mixture of pink, some purple, and orange. Light rebounded off the clouds, creating an array of colours. I glanced over at Livia who was laying down a blanket next to ours. I looked at Sheldon, his brown eyes now mirrored the sky. I smiled, and again looked forward. I threw a packet of MnM's at Livia and Kat, who were unsurprisingly sharing a few kisses. We snacked on some other stuff for another half an hour, until it got dark. Kat had brought a large camping lamp. He turned that on, which illuminated the area.
We had dinner, we did that weird Australian thing where we get chicken, bread rolls and salad and we just have burgers. Classic Aussie dinner. We waited a while before dessert, in which I had bought Cookie's + Cream Maxibons. For clarity, Maxibons are these half ice-cream, half ice-cream-sandwich thing and they are so good. This is actually one of those rare chances when I get to eat them.
We spent rest of the night staring at the stars. We had turned off the lamp, and because of the area we were in, there was no light pollution from the town, and we got the full effect of the sky. The Milky Way was overhead and this belt of stars was above us. I pointed out a few constellations I recognised.
I slowly got closer to Sheldon, leaning into him. Every now and then, I'd look over, his eyes shone under the moonlight.
We sat there for ages, his hand was wrapped around my waist as we stared off into the distance. Stars spread across the sky like an artist had flicked paint across a black canvas. I looked over again, he looked at me. I leaned in, and pressed my lips against his, closing my eyes.
He followed.
It was bliss. I loved it, and i know he did too.
I let out a low moan, I felt his mouth curving into a smile.
(SHELDON'S POV)
Her lips were soft as cotton, and tasted of sweet chocolate. I'd wanted this for so long but I never thought it would ever happen.
After about a minute, we pulled away from each other, panting.
I leaned my head against hers. I tucked a strand of her bright blue hair behind her ear.
"I love you, Michaela.." I whispered
(MICHAELA'S POV)
I immediately turned pink.
I managed to get out, "I love you too, Sheldon."
He pulled me back in again for another kiss and I enjoyed it just as much, if not more, than the first one. We sat there, staring at the stars again, and out of the blue, he said "So, Michaela, will you be the Betty to my Jughead?"
I laughed, and also nearly cried at the same time. "Of course, Sheldon, if you'll be the Juggie to my Betty."
"Oi, lovebirds. Livia's mum is here to pick us up," Kat yelled to us. We packed up everything we'd brought along and carried them to the car.
(LIVIA'S POV)
OH. MY. GOD.
I nearly screamed as I glanced over to see Sheldon and Michaela making out. I repeatedly hit Kat's leg as I got his attention towards the couple. "HOLY FUCK, KAT. IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING MY OTP IS CONFIRMED! AND THEY MADE RIVERDALE REFERENCES!" I freaked.
"...I thought we were your OTP?" He asked.
"We are my second favourite OTP. I've been stanning these two since before they started going out. It was me who talked to Sheldon in the first place and he told me about his crush on her."
"Oh. Okay then." He looked down. My phone started ringing, it was my mum.
"Hey Mum."
~ Hey, I'm coming to pick you guys up since it's getting late. You all have school tomorrow. ~
"Okay, I'll see you in a few minutes, then?"
~ Yep. See you soon. ~
I hung up and started packing up everything we'd brought with us. As we were driving home, I was practically planning out their wedding in my head. We dropped Michaela and Sheldon off at their houses and then I flopped into bed as soon as I walked through my door.
I knew exactly how it was going to happen.
Michaela would be wearing a gorgeous wedding dress, and of course Sheldon would be wearing a dashing suit. I would be the maid of honour, obviously, but I would also be very fucking drunk. Kasey, Adele and a few other friends would be the bridesmaids. Parents of the bride and groom would be bawling their eyes out. Black roses and blue decorations. Ceremony is held at a winery, the reception is held at a resort in Inverloch. My children, if I have any, will be throwing flower petals behind Michaela.
And of course, I would be crying. Drunk-crying and happy-crying.
(MICHAELA'S POV)
I laid on my bed, eyes wide and the feeling of Sheldon's kiss still lingering on my lips. We've only been dating for a few weeks but it felt right. I don't know how long we're going to last or if we'll even be together for more than a few months, but at that moment, it just felt right. Like it was meant to happen.
I didn't sleep at all. I wanted to sleep, and I really tried but I just couldn't. A million things were flying through my head at the same time.
That was probably the most stereotypical thing to happen ever.
First kiss on Valentine's Day?
Fuck it, it was fun. What's our future going to be like?
No, I can't go that far, we probably won't last. He's gonna get sick of me and my antics sooner or later.Ugh, I just want to sleep.
Why can't I sleep!?
I kept tossing and turning, trying to find a comfortable position so I could fall asleep. I'm guessing I eventually fell asleep somewhere around midnight, seeing as my alarm woke me up very suddenly the next morning.
