Third person's point of view
The two-day battle had finally come to an end.
The last bell echoed through the old mountain school, and with it came a collective release of breath. Some students slumped over their desks as though the exams had drained every ounce of life from them. Others immediately began arguing over answers, waving question booklets in the air.
"Who established the Kamakura Shogunate again?"
"Wasn't it Tokugawa Ieyasu?"
Isogai chuckled awkwardly, "It was actually Minamoto no Yoritomo.."
"Dang it! I was so close!"
Warm afternoon sunlight streamed through the open windows, carrying the cool scent of cedar and damp earth from the surrounding mountains. A gentle breeze stirred the curtains, rustling loose worksheets left abandoned across the desks.
Korosensei glided to the front of the room carrying several neatly organized folders. His usual smile stretched from ear to ear. "Well then, everyone." His voice instantly quieted the room. "I have received the grades for all your subjects." The yellow octopus carefully placed the folders atop the teacher's desk before clasping two tentacles together. "I suppose we'll begin with English.."
The room visibly straightened. Transparent pencil cases clicked shut. Conversations died away.
Korosensei dramatically lifted the first paper into the air. "Class E's highest scorer..." He paused just long enough for several students to lean forward. "...and first in your entire grade..." Another pause. "...Nakamura Rio!"
The classroom burst into applause.
All their test papers were in their hands in a flash. A red circle of approval appeared on Korosensei's face. "A perfect score! You weren't always all that motivated though, so I was worried."
Nakamura leaned back in her chair with an exaggerated grin before lazily fanning herself with the test paper. "Ufufu~ Ten billion yen is a great motivator." She pointed toward one of Korosensei's tentacles. "So don't forget—that one's mine."
Korosensei dramatically clutched the marked tentacle, "My precious appendages..."
Laughter erupted the entire room.
"Asano-san also worked hard, but there seems to be some confusions with article use~"
Class E - Asano Ginka
UP! 10 ➡️7
English: 90
Ranked 7th
"Aw~! I was so close though!" Ginka pouts as she traced one of the red correction marks with her thumb. She quietly folded the paper back onto her desk.
Korosensei nodded approvingly. "You've earned the class one tentacle." Another ribbon was ceremoniously tied around one of his tentacles. "However..." His smile became noticeably more competitive. "We still have the five-subject showdown with Class A."
