Now that they were entering the Texas city where the building was, Jacie started getting really nervous. It was nice of Barry to let them basically take his old truck, but it was one from the forties or something and not many people had trucks like this. They were standing out more than she wanted to, but since Jason wasn't freaking out, she tried her best not to either.
The ride there was quiet, but there wasn't much to discuss anyway. Both of them already knew how dangerous this would be, but neither of them were quite sure what to expect when they got there. Would they be attacked, would Kyle be there... maybe Nicky was there? Jacie really hoped her mother would be there, so she could save her... but if they were using Nicky as bait, she knew she would make all the wrong decisions and mess everything up.
Jason found a parking space a long ways away from the building they intended to investigate. Instead of going to that building, Jason found a good hiding place on top of another one nearby. He used some binoculars he borrowed from Barry to see if there was anything out of the ordinary.
"I can't see very much," he told her. "But something is definitely strange here. We shouldn't have come."
Hearing him say that caused Jacie's heart to jump then drop. Her chest tightened with anxiety as she carefully watched him continue to look things over. After a few more moments, both turned around in a flash when they heard a voice.
"I didn't think you were dumb enough to come."
"Kyle!" Jacie glared, and was about to attack him, but Jason held her back.
"What do you want?"
Kyle smiled. This time, he was wearing a black, tactical suit, armed with all sorts of weapons. "If you live... I'm sure you'll find out on your own."
He moved closer, causing Jason to get in front of Jacie. "You won't win this. Come with us."
Kyle glared. "We always win."
With that, Jacie heard gunshots and Jason fell to the ground. He was still alive, but he'd been hit in the ribs and the middle of his chest. She stooped to help him, but Kyle pulled her away. Jason knew that if he moved, whoever shot him might kill him right then and there, but he couldn't let Jacie get taken!
He sat up with determination burning in his eyes as Jacie attempted to get away, but then there was another shot. It hit Jason in the back, and that time he fell onto his stomach, eyes closed. It looked as though he might actually be...
"No!" Jacie screamed in horror. "No!"
That was it! They had gone too far this time. Somehow, Jacie got herself facing Kyle and just as Jason trained her to do, she hit him in every single weak spot she could remember as hard as possible. He blocked a few and even hit back and knocked her over once, but that didn't stop her.
She got his pistol out from his belt and pointed it right at his head. Both stood still.
"You know, I could have the sniper take you out too."
"Do what you will, but I will not let you get away with destroying my family... and... and killing Jason! You're my brother for goodness sake! Do you not remember? Do you realize you're destroying your own family?"
Kyle seemed genuinely surprised about what she said. He looked down at Jason for a moment, sadness in his eyes, but like lightning, he produced a knife, cutting her arm and making her drop the gun. He tackled her to the ground. "Liar!" He yelled, raised his fist in the air and knocked her out cold.
~oOo~
Mr. Bundy entered Nicky's cell with a smile on his face, causing her to glare at him with suspicion. "I already told you, I'm not giving you any information."
