#5 "I know this may be hard to believe but I'm on your side."

@mortalmarley

I'm really sorry that your request took so long. Since I lost interest in Shadpwhunter i just left all of the requests unfinished. I have now made it my task to complete all of the requests on the prompts list so if anyone else's is still on there I am working hard to get it done. As soon as I am done those prompts I will be marking this book as complete. I am also working on a second part to Treat You Better.

Your point of view

After Valentine was defeated things were still very tense between the Shadowhunters and the Downworlders, as many shadowhunters still agree with Valentine in his thoughts. My parents were some of those shadowhunters. While I disagree, it's hard to break through the claims that I agree with Valentine. Nonetheless I am still sent on missions and in this particular case a rogue vampire has started killing mundanes and I have been asked to bring her in.

I arrive on the scene of the vampires latest crime and I see Simon.

"Hey, Simon. What happened here?"

"Well, our newest vampire, Sarah, seems to have a bit more blood lust than usual and we haven't been able to control her. She doesn't seem to want to listen to us and instead chooses to kill mundanes. This is her fourth."

"Do you have any idea where she might be? I've been ordered to bring her in."

"She shouldn't be brought in. She's barely two weeks old. She just needs more time to adjust. I know that she has broken the accords but maybe if we give her some more time she will learn."

"I know this may be hard for you to believe, but I'm on your side. If anything she needs the Praetor Lupus not the Clave. They won't do anything but lock her away."

"Then it seems that we are in agreement. Let's go get ourselves a vampire."

We start at the Hotel Dumort, it may be a long shot but there's still a chance that she's there. She's not so instead we try her old house. And there she is feeding on her younger sister.

"Sarah, I know that you don't know me but i know that you don't want to be feeding on your younger sister." I say slowly walking towards her.

"You're right you don't know me. So why don't you and Simon just leave me alone to do waht I please."

"Sarah I can't let you do that. I'm a shadowhunter and I've been tasked by the Clave to bring you in. That means that even if I don't do it then they will get someone else to and eventually you will be stopped. Why don't you make this easier for yourself and just let her go and come with me?"

"I thought we were bringing her to the Praetor Lupus? Don't change the plan now." Simon hisses.

"Come on Sarah, You know that the punishment will be lighter if you just come with me now."

"I know that no matter what I will be punished and I know that killing someone else won't change that."

"Well you are right about the fact that you will be punished but I really need you to put your sister down now. If you don't I'm afraid that I'm going have to do everything it takes to stop you."

She finally releases her sister and walks over to me. Instead of taking her to the Clave, I take her to the Praetor Lupus.

"Simon, I never changed the plan but the threat of the Clave is greater than the threat of the Praetor Lupus. As I said, i'm on your side. Now I have to go explain to Alec why I brought a vampire that broke the accords to the Praetor rather than the Clave and fairly face my punishment."

"Thank you Y/n."

"No Simon, thank you for believing me. You are the first person in awhile after what my parents did."
