This is set after Casey proposes and Jane is wearing the ring around.
Janes POV
Maura went home from work today crying. I asked her what was wrong but she said it was nothing and walked off. I drove to her house at 7pm and went into the living room. Maura was sitting at her bar with a box of tissues. "Maura." I walked up and place my hand on her back. "Maura what's wrong?"
"It's nothing Jane. You should go home and get ready for Casey."
"What? no I'm not leaving you here like this. Now tell me what's wrong?"
"I...don't want you to go." Maura sniffled. I looked at her sympathetically. "How am I going to survive with out my best friend. And...and the woman that...I love." Maura looked up at me. My shocked look must have thrown her off. "I need some fresh air." Maura walked out I was trying to process what I had just heard. I'm in love with Maura. I just thought....I have to get her. I ran out and Maura was already half way to the road. "Maura!"
"Please, leave me alone." She said. By the time I got to her she was in the middle off the road. I ran around her and grabbed her shoulders. I cupped her face and kissed her. Maura put her hands on the back of my head and back and kissed me back. I wrapped my arms around her and she pulled away. She grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me down, crashing our lips together. Maura pulled away and smiled at the ground. "I love you too Maura." I took off my ring.
"Jane. You can't do this. You have to marry Casey."
"But I love you Maura." "How do I know that?"
"Do you want me to show you." Maura smiled at the ground again. "Jane...you can't. You need to marry Casey."
"No, I need to be with you." I picked Maura up and started to walk her back to her house. "Jane...!"
"What?!?"
"I know what your thinking."
"Well I'm think that I'm tired and want to go to sleep. But I want you to be in my arms. Is that what you thought?"
"No...." Maura said smiling into my neck. "We can do what you were thinking if you want."
"Jane!"
"Ok ok sorry...."
I dropped my ring in the hall way and took Maura to her room. Maura kissed on my neck as I walked her into her room. I slug her over my shoulder and she laughed. I smacked Maura's butt and she squealed at me. I laid her on the bed and she smiled at me. "Jane." Maura pulled me down onto her and kissed me. "Jane? Are you here?"
"Oh my god is that Casey."
"Just ignore it maybe he will go away." I said kissing Maura's neck. I picked her up and rested her on a pillow. She giggled and I covered her mouth with my hand. Maura was searching for the lamp switch as I kissed her and I laughed quietly. "Oh my god, JANE?!" I heard Casey. I pulled away and looked at him. "Casey I am sorry you had to find out this way." I said sitting up. "Jane, your cheating on me."
"Not anymore because we are....done." Casey looked so mad. He just walked out. I looked back at Maura. "He looked mad." she said. "Yeah. But I don't want to think about it right now." Maura put her hands on my waist and rolled on top of me. I smiled but then she plopped down next to me in the bed. "Jane...lets go to sleep." she mumbled hugging up to my arm. "Ok. Good night Maura."
