I get a little excited, baby when I think about you - Shawn Mendes, nervous
-
aria sat at her desk, applying a light coating of makeup over her face, a small smile appearing. she was going on a date with shawn. it felt like their first date all over again, but this time, she was less nervous for it, but still slightly sceptical to what's going to happen.

"what are you dressing up for?" liam asks her, walking into her room, folding his arms. "going out?"

"uh yeah," she mumbles nervously. "with shawn."

"shawn mendes? as in the guy who broke your heart?" liam bursts, completely shocked at his sister, who's getting back into some sort of relationship with shawn. "what?"

"please don't say that," she begs, standing up from her desk. "shawn and i talked yesterday, and we came to a conclusion that we want to get back together, but slowly." liam sighs, nodding.

"okay, if you're happy, then i am, but i swear to god if he hurts you again, he's getting more than just a punch," he mutters, making aria roll her eyes with a soft chuckle, before hugging her brother. "stay safe."

"i will, i love you, and thank you," she whispers, as he smiles, holding her tightly. "you don't think it's a bad idea, right? shawn and i getting back together?"

"aria," liam sighs, pulling away from the hug. "when two people are meant to be together, the universe will do everything to make sure that they are. have hope, because if you think it's the right thing to do, it is."

"thank you," she whispers, hugging him again. "i really-"

she gets cut off by the sharp shrill on the doorbell, making her heart leap in her chest. he was here. this was it. she felt nervous, as he cheeks flushed wildly, almost as if she's never been on a date with shawn before.

"do i look okay?" she asks liam, as he follows her down the stairs of their house.

"aria, shut up, shawn loves you either way," liam chuckles, as aria steadies her breath, holding onto the handle of the large door. "but yes, you look great."

"okay, um, i'll be back at maybe 11? i'm not sure where we're going," she rambles, picking up her bag, and sliding it over her shoulder. "now go away, he'll get scared if he sees you!"

liam chuckles at his sister, shaking his head, and walking away, leaving her alone, and ready to open the door. she takes a quick breath, before opening up the door, revealing shawn, with a bunch of pink peonies, his cheeks flushed softly, and his hair in its usual messy state, but perfect for aria. he's dressed in a pair of black trousers, with a white stripe running up either side, and a black shirt tucked into that, with his denim jacket over it.

"hey," he says, smiling widely at her. "you look stunning, aria."

"thank you," she blushes. "you look handsome."

"thanks," he grins. "i got these for you," he says, holding out the bunch of flowers. "i didn't want to get you roses, because i know that's typical, but i know peonies are one of your favourites so i-"

"shawn," she cuts him off with a chuckle. "stop rambling. they're beautiful, i love them, thank you," she grins back, taking the flowers, and smelling them. "let me go put these in some water, can i meet you outside?"

"of course," he responds, smiling widely, a blush at his cheeks. "i'm waiting in the car, okay?"

"mhm," she nods, smiling softly at him. "i'll be out in a minute," shawn let's her wander back into the house, whilst he walks back to his car, cursing himself for being so nervous and rambling.
