The sudden sound of my alarm filled my dream, causing me to stir awake.

I glanced over at it. '2:30 PM'

"Right on time." I said to myself as I rolled out of bed and got ready for the day.

I threw my favorite leather jacket on and grabbed my car keys before making my way out the front door.

In the driveway sat my Rallye Red 1973 Plymouth 'Cuda.

With a slight smile, I hopped in the drivers seat and started her up.

After giving her a few revs, I headed off towards my favorite spot in town, Twist. What made it special, though, was the fact that it was a lesbian bar, which was rare in our small town.

I pulled into the parking lot and got out, making my way to the front doors.

As I opened them, my nose immediately filled with the scent of alcohol and cheap perfume.

Then, I heard my name. "Hey, Skylar, over here."

I looked in her direction, seeing my best friend, Wendy, sitting at the bar.

"Hey." I greeted as I took the seat next to her.

"How's it hangin' kiddo?" She replied.

   "Still bigger than yours, drunkie."

She laughed and took a sip of her beer.

Wendy was a couple years older than me, but we were pretty much inseparable through school.

I looked around the packed bar. "Lots of potential today."

"There's a cute redhead eyeing you from the back booth." I heard.

I turned back, seeing the bar owner, Blake. Wendy and I befriended her a few years back when we started coming here.

"The one sitting all by herself?" I asked.

   Blake nodded.

   "She's cute." I replied.

"She's been ordering martinis since she got here." Blake said.

"Well, I'll take one martini and one Corona then." I replied.

She just smirked and handed me the drinks. I set a bill on the bar before making my way to the back, setting the martini down in front of the redhead.

   "This seat taken?" I asked

"It is now." She replied with a smirk.

I returned it as I sat down across from her.

"So, what brought you over..." She trailed off, raising her eyebrow inquisitively.

"Skylar." I finished. "And I happened to notice you over here all on your own. Thought you might like some company."

She smiled and stuck her hand out for me to shake. "Jen, nice to meet you."

I took her hand in mine and brought it to my lips for a quick peck. She blushed in response as I let her hand down.

After a few drinks, I was getting ready to seal the deal when my phone started to ring.

I looked down at it, my moms number flashing on the screen. "Sorry, I have to take this."
