I just dropped Rebecca off and was currently on my way home. We just got done celebrating our one year anniversary and in my opinion, it went great.

I was stopped at a red light when I heard my phone go off in my purse.

I pulled it out and saw a text from Rebecca. With a smile, I opened it.

My smile quickly faded though as I read through the text.

"I'm to good for you, so I'm breaking up with you, goodbye forever."

I felt my heart sink and tears start to well up in my eyes.

   "But, that can't be her-"

Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a pair of headlights barreling right towards me.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to act fast enough and they ran right into the side of my car... then, everything went black...

I opened my eyes and looked around, quickly realizing I wasn't at home, but in a...

   "Hospital?" I said shakily

"Oh my god! You're awake!" I heard a voice ring out next to me.

   "She's awake!"

I turned over and saw Wendy shouting out the door and eventually my parents, Beth, Jen and Blake filed in.

"How are you feeling, honey?" I heard my mom ask.

"How long have I been out?" I asked.

   "Two days." Blake replied.

"We were worried sick." My dad added.

I rubbed my head. "What happened?"

"You were in a car accident." Wendy replied.

And, just like that, the whole day played back through my mind. Our anniversary, then the text, then the headlights.

   "Rebecca..."

"We tried to get a hold of her, but she wouldn't pick up her phone." My mom said.

I tried to sit up but an intense pain ran through my abdomen. "Ow, dammit!"

My mom slowly pushed me back down. "The doctors say you shouldn't move, you messed yourself up pretty bad."

I pulled my shirt up and saw the long bruise from the lap belt stretching from one side of my stomach to the other.

"It was a good thing you were wearing that." My dad said.

I put my head back down and felt the tears start to well up again.

"Can I talk to Wendy, alone?" I asked.

Everyone nodded and slowly made their way out of the room.

I looked over in her direction.

   "What's up?" She asked.

I sighed before running her through the whole day leading up to the accident, including the text.

"That doesn't sound like her." She said.

"That's what I was thinking. But, I need to talk to her." I replied, giving her a hopeful look.

"I'm on it." She said before standing up and walking out.

I heard her and Jen make their way out of the hospital...
