"Hey!" Blake greeted with a hug as I walked through the front doors of Twist.

"Hey yourself." I replied, squeezing back.

She released her grip before walking back behind the bar. "Long time no see."

I took a seat in front of her. "Sorry, I've been super busy."

She rolled her eyes and smiled. "To busy to see your friend?"

I shook my head. "Of course not. It's... a long story."

She must've sensed the seriousness in my voice since she dropped the subject and offered me a beer.

   "Corona?"

I sighed. "Make it a double."

She walked to the cooler and returned with three beers. I cracked the first one open and took a big swig.

   "That bad, huh?"

"Well, everything was going great, then Rebecca tells me Wendy might be dating Jen."

She let out a low whistle. "I hate to admit it, but they did seem kinda... flirty."

"That's what Rebecca said to... Dammit."

She shrugged. "Maybe this isn't such a bad thing. At least she's moved on from you."

"True, but with Jen? That girls sneaky, I don't know if I can trust her, I mean Wendy's my best friend, what if-"

Blake raised her hands. "Whoa there, slow your roll. Wendy's a big girl, I'm sure she can handle herself."

I lowered my head. "Maybe you're right. I'm just a little concerned, I haven't heard from her in a few days. Usually she'd text me at the least."

   "Have you tried calling her?"

   "Yes, about a hundred times."

"Hmm... Well, why don't you go see her?"

   "Like drive down there?"

"Yeah, what's the worst that could happen?"

"I don't know... I don't want her to think I'm invading her life or anything."

Blake waved her hand. "Oh, grow up, she's your best friend and you're just checking in on her. I don't see the big deal there."

"Yeah, maybe you're right. I mean, who says I can't stop by and see my best friend?"

She pointed her beer at me. "Exactly."

"Thanks." I said, pulling out some cash to pay for the beers.

She raised her hands. "No need, I'll finish them off."

I smiled and waved her off before heading out the door and to my car...

I pulled up in front of Wendy's house and parked behind her Corvette before getting out, only to see another car in front of hers.

I made my way up to her door and went to knock, but when I did, the door creeped open on its own. I poked my head in, but no one was there.

"Wendy?" I asked into the empty room.

"Ahh!" I heard her muffled screams coming from upstairs.

I bolted through the door and made my way upstairs, hearing more screams as I got closer to her bedroom door. I slammed the door open and ran in.

"Wend-" I stopped in my tracks, quickly realizing those weren't screams... they were moans.
