Three months later, Rhea finds herself stepping into a hotel in San Francisco following the members of Harry's band. Aaliyah is on her tail and once they step inside onto the marble floor lobby, Rhea pushes her sunglasses into her hair and quickly checks her work phone. It's the first time she's left her firm for longer than a week and she's a little nervous. Most of her work can be handled online or through skype, so it's not a big deal. She never would have left her office if she didn't think her staff was capable of handling it by themselves. She'd been tempted to leave Aaliyah in charge there, but she knew that her friend wouldn't let her go on this trip all alone, and this would be search a learning opportunity for her. There was no way Rhea could deprive her of that.
"Relax," Aaliyah says, rolling her bag to a stop and then skillfully plucking the phone out of Rhea's hand. "Matthew has everything under control. I talked to him several times."
Rhea nods, letting her shoulders sag, "You're right. I'm just antsy, you know?"
Aaliyah nods, "I know."
"M'gonna check us all in," Harry says, shooting them all a smile as he heads towards the front desk with Jeff.
Aaliyah waits until they are out of hearing range, "Rhe... Are you sure about this? I know I keep saying it but it's not too late to turn around. I will haul ass and get that Uber back here."
Rhea watches as the front desk employee's eyes widen when he recognizes Harry, a sight that she'll never get tired of seeing. "I'm sure. Al, this is going to be such a great experience for you. You're going to learn so much."
"And what exactly will we be doing?" Aaliyah asks, inquisitively pursing her lips at Rhea and making her roll her eyes in response.
There really wasn't an official term for the position Rhea had working for Harry.
She'd checked the dictionary. Twice.
During the first few meetings she and Jeff (along with Harry and Aaliyah) had gone back and forth about what exactly she would be doing. It was more than obvious that Jeff wasn't too happy to be sharing the responsibilities of Harry's career with her, but it was what Harry wanted so he went along with it (albeit with a sour face). Officially, Rhea would be handling all the press aspects of Harry's career while on tour. Any events with local charities or interviews, booking sightseeing and private restaurants, and just making sure things run smoothly. She was also in coordination with his tour managers in each country and was acting as an on site boss at the venues, making sure everything from merch to fans to the actual show went well. When Harry had special guests coming to the shows, she worked with security to make sure they were taken care of. A part time PR rep, tour manager, and confidant- as Harry had titled it with a proud smile.
"Everything," Rhea replies finally, giving her friend a reassuring nod. She's not sure if it's meant for Aaliyah or for her.
Harry comes back and hands out their assigned room keys. There was Rhea, Aaliyah, Jeff and Glenne, Harry, Sarah, Clare, Mitch, and Adam. Lou and Harry Lambert were traveling there together for Harry's show the next day, so these 9 people were the main crew.
