Ascella's POV
Finally Friday and I was ready to leave school. It was almost the end of May now, so school is almost over. Can't wait to be a senior. I started to walk to work. I was in such a better mood now, I didn't have to worry about anything or anyone. Especially Paulo. He has been keeping his distance from me recently, but I didn't mind at all. I got dressed and clocked in, saying hi to my coworkers. I started serving coffee and taking orders at the counter.
"Hey, Ascella." Greeted Eduardo, a usual at the diner.
"Hey, Ed, how's it going?" I poured some coffee for him.
He sighed and drank, "Got anything stronger?"
"No, sorry. I'm not allowed to serve alcohol since I'm underaged."
He groaned miserably. I set down the coffee pot and looked at him sympathetically, "Que pasó?"
"Nada.."
"Habla conmigo."
"Mi màma...ella todavía está enferma."
"Ày." I took his hand, "Tener fe... El Señor peleará por ti, solo necesitas estar quieto..."
"Exodus 14:14...gracias, niña." He smiled. I nodded and continued taking orders and pouring coffee.

Hours passed and I finally got Ed to go see his mother. I looked at the clock to see it was 6 already. This cause me to sigh and register some bills.
"Where's Cassie? She was supposed to come in at 5:30." I looked to one of the other waitresses: Sadie. She shrugged, "She's been skipping out. I had to take her shift today."
"I took it last week, too." I muttered. I looked to the door to see Olly walk in. He smiled and waved.
"Um...I'm gonna take my break now if that's alright."
Sadie smirked, "Take as long as you want."
I could feel a light blush on my cheeks as I went to him and led him to a table near the back.
"Hi..."
"Hi."
He opened his mouth to speak, but then Sadie set down two milkshakes for us, "On the house." Olly nodded and thanked her before she walked away. My cheeks started to burn by now. I laughed and looked at him, "I'm so sorry..."
"No, no it's fine." He smiled. I could feel my heart flutter as his lips curled up. He grabbed his straw and started drinking from his milkshake.
"What'd you get?" I tried to start conversation as I drank from mine.
"Classic strawberry, You?"
"Sadie knows I like vanilla. Wanna try?"
He nodded and pulled out his straw from his and placed it in my drink as I was drinking. Our foreheads were nearly touching. He looked at me with his bright blue eyes. I stopped drinking and pulled away from my straw. He sat back against the booth and looked around.
"This is a nice place...quaint and quiet..."
"You like quiet?"
"Yeah...I usually stay in my room while my father has business parties. However, my dad insists that I talk to people, so I can get used to the business I will own one day." He sighed, messing with the straw he put back in his milkshake.
"Do you wanna run the business?"
"I don't really have a choice, do I?"
"If you did...what would you do?"
He looked at me, "Truthfully?"
"Yeah..."
"Be a photographer. I like seeing life in different perspectives, and pictures make that ten times better."
I nodded and smiled, "That's really cool."
"What were you expecting?"
"Model or something..."
Olly hummed, taking my hand and rubbing my knuckles from across the table, "What about you?"
"Me? A lawyer..."
"Really?"
"Yeah, my closeness with the law has really pulled me to wanting to be a lawyer. I wanted to be a cop at first, but my dad doesn't want me in that zone."
"If you weren't influenced by the law...what would you do?"
I looked at him. He subconsciously licked his lips and looked at our hands, "I would be an artist..."
"An artist? What kind?"
"Singing, and dancing." I muttered shyly. He smiled gently, letting out a laugh, "Really?"
"Why are you laughing?" I grinned.
"I just...think that's beautiful..."

Olly ran his finger against my cheek and along my jawline. I felt incredibly entranced with him. His words, his appearance, his movements, everything...I let out a gentle breath, lost in my moment of taking him in. His hand led back to mine and he lifted it to his lips, kissing my knuckles. Suddenly, my name was called. I looked to the clock and then back to him.
"Come back tomorrow." I whispered. He nodded and I walked him back to his car. He kissed me passionately before getting in. I got back in the diner and went back to taking orders at the counter.
