Ascella's POV
One month into summer already and I was scared to go back to school. I walked up to my door with Olly, unlocking the door. I opened it to see someone I didn't expect. I gasped and dropped my things.
"Mom!!!" I hugged her tight. She laughed and held me close, "Hi, sweetheart!"
"I-I thought-6 months??"
"I told your father not to tell you guys." She kissed my head, then looked at Olly.
"Hello, Olly."
"It's very nice to finally meet you face to face, Ms. Amaro." He smiled and gave her a hug. I grinned, happy my mom was home. I watched her as she talked to Olly and Zara was playing. Dad had to go back to work because this guy was beaten and he was connected to a rape. I sighed, thinking. I felt something small and soft on my neck.
"What is it?"
I hummed, enjoying his lips on my skin. He then trailed it up to the shell of my ear, rubbing against my helix. I let out a soft breath, my eyes closing, "Olly..."
"Hm?"
"I'm really glad you're here. You and my mom..."
I heard him chuckle and he planted a kiss on my temple, "I'm happy to be here."

The whole day we spent time catching up. Once dad got home, I started cooking dinner. He seemed tired and frustrated again. We ate and talked, avoiding the case. Mom was making the most conversation. I had to admit, dinner used to be very quiet and awkward, dad didn't even show up most of the times.
"How long are you staying?" I wondered, looking at my mom. She sighed, "A few weeks. A month hopefully..."
I nodded, taking Zara's now empty plate along with mine to wash them, "Do you want mommy to tuck you in tonight?"
"Yes! Please, mommy?"
My mom laughed, "of course." She followed Zara upstairs to get her ready for bed. Truth be told, it's weird calling her mom. I only started once Zara was born. Dad was dating her for nearly 4 years, married her into 2, she became my stepmom, and they had Zara. I liked her, loved her, but she knows we'll never be as close as we both hoped. Right now, it's more of a friendship than a mother-daughter bond...
"Ascella?" I turned my head to see Olly at my side, "You okay? You've been scrubbing that dish for a while."
I looked down at the dish I was holding, letting out a laugh, "Yeah, sorry..." I shook my head and placed it down to dry.
"Hey, your mom is gonna be home to watch Zara tomorrow...why don't you two go do something? I know you guys haven't had any alone time recently."
"It's only July..."
"And in August you'll be in two different schools doing two very different things."
Olly looked at me and I nodded, "Thanks, dad."

The next day, Olly took me to the suite. We sloppily stumbled in while making out. He opened the door and carried me to the counter of the kitchen. I laughed and gasped as he laid me down on the cold counter. He had a wild grin on his face as he pulled me closer. I pulled him back down so he could kiss me.
"Do I have to walk in on you at the wrong times?" Nash Kingsley's voice resonated from the door. Olly sighed into my neck and got up, helping me sit up. We looked at Nash, arm candy on both of his sides.
"What are you doing here, dad?"
"Can't I just see my son?"
Olly let out a bitter laugh, "Is that really what you want?"
Nash smirked, telling the girls to leave. They complied, walking back to the elevator. He fixed his suit and looked at us.
"I don't like this." He said blatantly.
Olly scoffed, "Too bad."
"Dump her. Now."
"Excuse me?"
I felt my heart drop. Was he serious?
Nash smiled, "Oh, Olly, I'll find you a better one...richer...dumber...Ascella here is too, how do I put it? Ah! Influential. She's a distraction and is leading you away from this and much more!" He gestured to the suite, "Give it up for one person?"
"I'd rather lose this than lose her."
Nash scoffed, "Multimillionaire status or-.."
"A regular teenage life? I'd like the latter." Olly interrupted. Nash glared at him, then me.
"Ms. Amaro...you know Olly has big responsibilities don't you?"
I nodded.
"And you would always want the best for him?"
I nodded.
"Let's say...running a company and keeping his status benefits him until the day he dies, and then there's staying with you...where it risks his life 24/7. Which would you want for him?"
I could feel my heart raise to my throat, making it hard to speak.
"Well, Ms. Amaro?"
Olly clenched his fist and went to him, pushing him down.

"Olly!" I gasped as he punched his father, "Stop it! Get off of him! Olly, Stop!" I tried stopping him, but his elbow hit me. Out of nowhere, Charlie rushes in and pulls Olly off. Nash only laughed and got up, "Do you see what you do to my son, Ms. Amaro?"
I stepped away from everyone and rushed away from the suite. I found Olly's BMW and got in, driving away. I had no idea where I was going, but I couldn't stay. I found myself parked in front of the precinct, calling Amanda.
"Ascella? Sugar, what's wrong?"
"Can you or Liv come down, I'm in a Grey BMW across from the precinct."
"Alright, Sug..."
I waited, gripping the steering wheel. A knock on the window startled me slightly. Instead of it being Amanda or Liv, it was my dad. I bit my lip and held back my tears, rolling the window down.
"The last time I checked you-Ascella? What is it? What happened?" He opened the door and looked at me, "Why is your face bruised? Ascella who did this?"
I shook my head. He sighed and got me out, locking the car and taking me to the precinct. He sat me at his desk and got an ice pack. Amanda walked out of interrogation and looked, "Jeez, Ascella, What happened?"
I hadn't noticed my hands were shaking until Amanda took a hold of them.
"I...He..."

"Did Olly do this?"
"No—yes, but-but it was an accident."
"Ascella?" Charlie rushed in, his cheek red, "Shit." He saw the ice pack. Nick looked to him, "Explain. Now."
"It was Olly's dad...he walked in and told Olly to dump her. Then he started to guilt trip Ascella and Olly lost it. Ascella was only trying to stop him from attacking his dad, but got hit."
Charlie looked at me, replacing Amanda's hands, "He's in the car...well, my car at least. Honestly, Ascella, I didn't know you could drive." He smiled, trying to lighten the mood. I laughed shortly, looking down.
"Please don't tell me Nash was getting to you. He's just a huge douche..."
"I-I don't know, Charlie."
"Ascella, Olly's going nuts without you. And he's emotional. That hasn't been a thing since his mom left..."
I moved the ice pack and he looked, "Ouch..."
"Is it bad?"
"No, of course not, Amaro. You're still fucking gorgeous. Now, c'mon, let's get out of here."

I went down with Charlie. I went to the BMW and could see Olly in the driver's seat. I got into the passengers seat. His face was tense and harsh. He started the car and drove. We were quiet the whole way. I then realized he wasn't going to his nor my house.
"Olly-..."
"Don't worry. I'm not kidnapping you." He managed to crack a small smile. It took nearly an hour, but we arrived to a cabin. Well, mansion...
He walked me in and I saw Nash drinking some brandy.
"Looks like you beat us." Olly murmured.
"You don't think I don't know where you like to hide? I came here after your brother died..."
I looked to Olly, then around the cabin. There photos of Olly with his family. I eyed one of two people, one of them I haven't seen before. A young man and woman. Someone who looked so much like Olly...
"This is you..." I turned to Nash as I picked it up, "And your wife..."
I could see the pain and regret in his eyes. I put it down gently, "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have touched it. I'm just a stranger...I shouldn't even be here."
"No, I told Olly to bring you here..." he sighed. Before he could speak, i spoke, "Mr. Kingsley, I love Olly. With every fiber of my being I have left. I know those words cannot persuade you to like me, but I care about your son. I know you care about him too."
"Ascella-.." Olly started.
"No. Nash people may be at your feet and kiss the ground you walk on, but you cannot be so proud all the time if you're proud of the wrong things...Olly is nearly everything you have when it comes to family, to love. He's not just a pawn or something you can dump your fortune on. He's your son. He wants you to know he loves you and still cares and-and he's always worried about you ever since you lost your wife...and your son. You've already lost one, please don't risk losing another..."
Silence filled the room. Nash stood up straight and went to me, cupping my cheek gently.
"You remind me so much of my wife...she was so fierce and spontaneous...I'm glad my son has you." He nodded to Olly and walked out.

I turned to Olly, who smiled.
"What?"
"You said you love me..."
"I do. Do...do you love me?" I placed my hands on his shoulders. He kissed me hungrily.
"I love you so much, Ascella Amaro."
I grinned and he picked me up, carrying me to a room.
"Oh god don't let this be a sex dungeon." I joked. He chuckled and laid me on the bed, "I don't have that...yet..."
"Let's not let you read that new book, Fifty Shades of Grey." I kissed him again as he crawled atop of me.

We got back to my place and i walked in to see mom and dad, a suitcase packed. I looked to them, shaking my head. She stood, "Baby, I know..."
"You-you just got here. I-I don't understand."
"It's the man in the case...he has power in the military..." Dad muttered.
"I'm leaving tomorrow morning."
