"some things need to be let out in order to heal"✨
"Don't go in!" Cody warned me, but me being me, just ignored him. "I'm being serious! She's on a -"
I opened her door and saw her, laying on her bed, crying. She was watching something and had food surrounding her, everywhere.
Her face was a mess, and her eyes all of a sudden had dark bags under them. Her hair was unkept and all over the place. She couldn't see me, because the wardrobe was angled in such a way that I could see her, but not the other way round.
I took a step out of the room and gave a look, asking Cody to explain what happened. "This is her day. She has it like once a year on this day every single year."
"On this day? This day is important isn't it?" I asked and he nodded subtly, and then I got it. Cody's head was also kinda bowed down, and he wasn't his usual annoying self...
It had to be something to do with their family or their past - the past which I have failed - so far - to uncover. I only knew that Alexis and Cody's mom wasn't with us, and her dad... she never did tell me anything about her dad.
I looked back in the room, and Alex was wearing - still true to the soccer girl - a Barcelona Football Club shirt. A thin blanket was draped over her legs, and food littered the bed, covering most of it. Empty packets of chips, chocolates - empty and full-, and a ton of sweets.
It was a complete mess, a havoc. Something that did not go with Alexis' aura and what not. The image did not fit her and it just wasn't right.
I looked away, it being hard to look at her for some reason. I don't know why, I just couldn't. Like it hurt looking at her. Like I couldn't stand looking at her being so depressed and down.
A plan began formulating in my head and I grabbed my jacket which I had thrown on the couch when I had come in, and hollered "I'm gonna be back in 5 minutes!" And ran down the stairs. It would be a miracle if she didn't hear me though, but I guess eh was too engrossed with her movie or whatever.
I ran into the cafe, "Yo, Mace, what does Alexis like?" And he immediately looked up from serving someone. He put up a finger and quickly jot down the couple's order and shoved the pen and pad into his back pocket.
"What?" Was all he asked and then shook his head. "Your asking me what Alexis likes? How the hell am I supposed to know that?"
Unfortunately, Mason has a point. But he didn't get what I was saying. "I mean, does she ever get anything from here? Like what's her usual?" And he thought.
"The Caramel Latte, I guess. She gets that a lot of the time." He said after a few moments in contemplation. I smiled, a genuine smile, and took out 5 bucks.
