"Lemme be clear. The only thing you got was a gym bag, and some more hoodies?" Alyssa asks me, not hiding the disgust in her voice.

"No, I also got a pair of boyfriend jeans. But other than that...Yes, actually." I respond, genuinely not fazed by that. "You didn't even go into a different shop, oh and let's not forget the fact you refused to let dad pay for you!" She throws her hands up in exasperation.

"I owe your dad too much, Alyssa. I'm not using more of his money. I already caused him way to much hassle. He payed for my ticket, he let us stay. What else can I want?" I ask her.

"Your so stupid." She mutters as she heads to Cody who has a fair amount of things, as well as Jordan.

Jordan got his money from his Grandma. And Cody, well he's using the money I got left and some of Uncles.

"Cody is probably the only sensible one out of you three." She rolls her eyes, as she drags Cody to pay.I watch as his eyes widen in horror, marks of black stuff still vaguely visible on his face. I laugh at the sight, my heart clenching at the same time.

I really did fail to give him the life he actually wanted. Cody deserves so much more, and that certainly does not mean having no parents and to be financially vulnerable.

"Lost in thought?" Chase startles me and I roll my eyes. "Yes, I have problems to worry about, other than buying a ton of clothes. I need to find a job, and ASAP." I lie, obviously I wasn't thinking about my work place.

But now coming to mention it, that's another thing I need to sort out. School starts on Monday for me and Cody, and I need to get a job.Oh Lord, I'm gonna be so indebted to Uncle Leo.I sigh in stress and furrow my brows. I really want someone to tell me it's alright. I have nobody to rely on.

And if you would say Uncle Leo, I would smack you. I owe him too much already. I tilt my head up to the ceiling. Why is life so cruel?

"Well, there's an ice cream parlour... I mean, it's not a bad place and it's a good start. Oh, and there's the cafe down the street from school." Chase suggests.I turn to face him and curiously look at him. "Why are you helping me?" I ask him. He shrugs. "You can tell when someone is desperate."

"I'm not desperate." I mutter, turning away from him whilst rolling my eyes.

Ha. Roll your eyes any further and you might just see your brain. If you have one.

I'm really not in the mood to put up with my subconscious. After Cody and Jordan have payed, we make our way out the mall entirely because I refuse to spend any more time here. I detest shopping.

I really aren't a girl. Oh well.

"I'm gonna walk around and try find some place to work." I tell Alyssa. "Oh? And I care because?" She asks me venomously.
