Sometimes we need to ask for help. We can't be independent all the time.

"Okay, so I split up the things we needed

"Okay, so I split up the things we needed. I tried to make them in similar isles, but there will be random ones on the list." I explained to the boys who were nodding.

School was boring. At least it was the last week before the Christmas holidays, so that was something.

In the current moment, I wanted to pinch Jayden's cheeks because he looked so fucking adorable, squatting at the little kids level.

"Me and Nathan are on one team, Jayden and Daniel are on the other. And our favourite grumpy Nick Colton is standing on the other end of the check out line. Any questions?" I asked them and Daniel raised his hand.

"Why am I on his team?" He asked, pointing at his brother. I chuckled as Jayden frowned and lightly tapped the back of his brother's head.

"Because Jayden chose. And I feel like Nathan and I get along way better. Like you and Jayden do." I said, squatting at his level. He nodded and then I picked up Nathan and put him in the cart, sitting down.

I looked over to see Jayden doing the same and I gave him half of the list. "Ready?" I asked and he nodded.
"Ready."

---
"We won!" Me and Nathan shouted, him sitting on my shoulders, as we walked home. Nick was rolling his eyes, but you could see the pride and small smile plastered on his face, making me smile even bigger.

We reached the park, as Nick put down half the bags. Yeah, we let him carry a few bags.

I let Nathan off of my shoulders and he and Daniel ran to the swings, racing each other- determined to beat the other.

Nick followed them and gave us a look telling us to keep an eye on the bags. "And why wouldn't we? Nick we fucking paid." I said, scowling at him, through a smile if that's even possible.

"We lost?" Jayden offered when I looked at him as we sat on the bench. I laughed, eyes tightly shut.

"Don't worry, you'll always be my winner." I winked at him. A cheeky smile found its way on his face and I laughed.

I leaned my head on his shoulder, watching the two little kids play- I found my eyelids dropping as I let sleep cloud my mind.

---
"Alexis." Jayden nudged me. I heard him say other stuff but I stayed unmoving, pretending to be asleep.

"Come on, it's 6:25, let's go!" He nudged me again and then gave up. He's probably been trying for some time before I woke up.

But I didn't want to walk and wanted free transportation again, so I kept my eyes shut. You should know that I'm an excellent fake sleeper.

"Nick, can you take like most of the bags?" I heard him ask and Nick replied a very dull yes.

Jayden put one hand under my thighs and one at my neck, then hoisted me up into his arms. I bit back a smile that was on the verge of showing in my face. It took a lot of willpower to not smile.
