When I opened my eyes, I was in complete darkness. I saw light streaming in from somewhere but when I looked at to see where it was coming from, but I was blinded by the light source. I clasped my arms around myself, chattering from the sudden cold. I could see my breath clouding around me when I was exhaling.

I blinked, and a ring of full-length mirrors surrounding me. I looked into the mirror and instead of seeing my shivering form, I saw Yuna. there were no crowd of nameless, shadowed students surrounding her. Just me, and a ring of Yunas surrounding me. She smiles at me. "What's the matter, Mayuri?" She smirked. "You did it again, didn't you? You tried it end it all. And you did."

She reached out for me and her pressed her hand against the glass. "And guess what?" She grinned like a sadist. "It is over. But you're not alone here. It's just you and me here."

She held her hand over her mouth, her index, middle, and ring fingers hovering her her lips and started giggling before it erupted suddenly into maniacal laughter as she held a hand over her stomach and leaned back, howling with laughter as she pointed a finger at me, as if she was ridiculing me. And she was.

I fell on my knees and covered my ears with my hands and collapsed over my knees and began to cry. "Please...stop....leave...leave me alone..." I begged through tears slowly dripping down my face.

I looked up with tear-filled, pleading eyes, begging her to stop, which only caused her to laugh even harder and louder. I dropped my head down again in shame. Why am I so weak? Why am I like this? I thought when it was all over, she, my personal demon, would be gone. But even in death, she was always going to be there, haunting me. I had enough. I just wanted peace, for once!

I stood up shakily and still hasn't noticed me standing up as she continued her laughter. My fist was balled up and was shaking. I raised my fist in the air and gritted my teeth, punching the mirror, causing a spiderweb crack where I struck it and the crack traveled all through the mirror and the other mirrors that surrounded me. Suddenly, the glass shattered and suddenly I was sucked into the void where the glass was originally.

*~*~*~*~*~

I sat up suddenly in the bed, blinking, the nightmare being drained out of my brain and left to be forgotten. I blinked and rubbed my eyes. My head turned left and right, my silver angel wing earrings jingling to the movement as I took in my surroundings. There were tubes coming out of my nose and leading somewhere as well as an IV in my vein of my arm.

Then the realization hit me.

I am alive.

I am not dead.

I am alive.

"Oh! You're awake!" A voice sighed in relief, the sudden noise scaring me. I looked up to see a nurse. "I will let your family know that you are awake."

"Please...don't..." I pleaded, tearing up.

"Sorry?" The nurse turned around, stepping into my room. "Did you say something?"

"Please...don't tell my family I'm alive," I begged.

"Are you crazy?" She demanded, her tone becoming angry. "You're alive and you don't want your family to know? I know you've been through a lot, but I have to tell you family. You need all the love and support you need, especially now."

She left my room and I brought my feet up close to my chest, wrapping my arms around my legs and bent my head, crying.

"You survived," A voice whispered. I looked up and, through my tears, I saw Yuna next to my bedside.
