TW - Panic attack
I was piping the outer-ring design of the wedding cake I was currently working on. Mom and Dad were out picking up ingredients to refill the stock of ingredients. I stuck my tongue out in concentration as I piped and I felt my phone vibrate in my arpon pocket, which was over my black thermal underneath a beige colored mini-dress with a black trim at the edge of it, black tights, and black high-heeled boots. Removing a hand from the piping, I fished for my phone in my pocket and flipped it open, pressing the Accept Call button and held the phone up to my ear by my shoulder as I resumed piping frosting on with two hands. "Hello?" I greeted.
"Mayuri, glad to see that you're not busy," Kyoya's voice echoed from the other end.
It's Kyoya! Remembering what I last did in the clubroom caused me to slump my shoulder and my phone fell. I gasped, bending down to grab my phone but my hand gripped the frosting tube too hard from my panic of accidentally shattering my phone on the ground and frosting sprayed out all over the counter, miraculously missing the cake I was decorating. Groaning, I stared at the mess that I made while putting my phone back up to my ear.
"Mayuri?" Kyoya asked. "Did you hear me? I said that--"
"Sorry, Senpai," I sighed. "You're going to call back later. I...have a mess to clean up."
Or, don't call back at all, please, I thought as I grabbed a few paper towels and wet them with the tap water, wiping the surface area that I was frosting. Once I had cleaned up, the mess, I went back to piping the frosting on the cake. As soon as I was done with that, I began to use fondant mold to create pale, pink flowers as I stuck them onto the cake. Finally, I used the little bride and groom cake topper and plopped them on top of the cake, wiping my forehead out of habit.
"Finished!" I signed.
"Ooooh!" I heard the voice of several people admiring my work from behind me. Screaming, I turned around only to trip and fall backwards on my back to see the Host Club applauding at my work. Everyone was here, and they all wore some form of casual clothing instead of their school uniforms.
"W-What are you doing here?!" I stammered, using the counter to lift myself back up on my feet.
"Kyoya said that you were busy so we decided to come and visit," Tamaki replied.
I took a deep breath in order to calm myself down. Okay, okay, routine broken. So what? Kick them out, that's what. "I'm afraid you're going to have to leave," I sighed. "I'm looking after the bakery for my parents and--"
"Does the school know you have a job outside of there?" Kyoya asked.
"Huh?" I replied, tipping my head to the side in confusion "No, they don't. This bakery is my parent's business. I'm working here for experience and--"
"Do you know the consequences of the school not knowing that you're working behind their backs?" Kyoya stared at me in a serious manner.
"Uh...?" I gulped. "Expulsion?"
