Haruhi and I were at the airport as well as the rest of the Host Club, her father, and the students of Ouran Academy who knew Haruhi, which were a lot. I never thought about this before, but Haruhi has affected a lot of lives in a good way during her time here at Ouran. The announcement came on, alerting all of us that Haruhi's flight was leaving soon. As she stood up and headed to the gate to her flight, she turned around and smiled at all of us. "All of you that came today to see me off," Haruhi smiled. "Thank you. Really. I am going to miss all of you. I can't wait to join all of you again."
I threw my arms around Haruhi to (literally) squeeze in one last hug with my girlfriend before I see her next year. "I love you," I whispered.
"Love you too," Haruhi wrapped her arms around me and squeezed me before we let go and Haruhi took her suitcase and waved one last final goodbye to us. We all waved goodbye until Haruhi went through the gate and was out of sight.
Haruhi's father sniffed and wiped a few tears away, his mascara running. I faced him. "Miss her already?" I laughed.
"Yeah," He sniffed. "And I am going to miss her. But I won't be the only one missing her a lot as well."
He turned and faced me, giving me a teary smile. Her was talking to me. I smiled softly back at him. "Yeah, I miss her already as well," I nodded.

What I saw that very afternoon shocked me as well.
Hours after Haruhi left, the Host Club left as well. I didn't realize this until a crowd of girls and I around Music Room 3 read a sign outside that said: "To Our Guests: the Host Club is taking a long vacation". It didn't take much for us to connect the dots and figured out that the Host Club was joining Haruhi in Boston.
The girls were taking it well. No tears, actually. They were even discussing plans for the future. "Let's go visit them at Christmas!" They said.
"And we won't hold back on Haruhi," They added.
"Let's ask her about the secrets of cross-dressing!" They giggled.
As they talked amongst themselves, a girl turned to me. "Are you going to be alright, Mayuri?" She asked.
"Huh?" I responded, just realizing that she was talking to me.
"Are you going to be alright with Haruhi, Mayuri?" She asked again. "I'm not saying that I distrust Haruhi or anything but...don't you have any concerns for her? You are her girlfriend, after all, and with Haruhi being so far away, she can get away with anything behind your back without you ever knowing."
"I know what you're talking about," I nodded before I turned back to her and smiled. "We made a promise last night that either of us can't break. I trust her, and she trusts me. That's how relationships work, after all, especially long-distance ones. And it's only a year as well. It won't be that long."
"Oh, that's so sweet!" Her eyes began to water as she began to comically cry.
"Hey, Mayuri, can you tell us a bit about your relationship with Haruhi?" The female students asked as we walked away from Music Room 3.
"Eh?" I cried, embarrassed at the question.
"Don't be shy!" They laughed. "We already know that Haruhi is a girl, so there's no need to hide anything about her to us!"
"It's not that i don't want to share anything with you lovely ladies," I stammered. "There's just nothing to share about us!"
As they pressed for answers and laughed at my stammering, the music room became a speck in our sight. And soon, a photo that the Host Club sent to us to us of them having fun in Boston with a (displeased) Haruhi, joined that note outside their door.
