This guy as Tim who I think is slowly becoming more important (unplanned), but also this chapter went in a very different direction to what I was expecting(Also unplanned)...
Give it some love if you feel up to itI stared my father deep in the eyes, not knowing, and not necessarily wanting to know what this chat was going to be about. The atmosphere in the room was tense, my face was still throbbing, and everything good I had felt about today had been sapped away - not that the list was very long in the first place.
"About?" I managed to ask.
My mother sighed, looking briefly at my dad before her attention focused on me. "About your recent behavior. We ignored the first bruises, but now that this has been repeated and brought into school - for that matter - we can't just sit idly."
"Mom-"
"Quiet young man." My dad cut in.
I snapped my jaw shut, clenching it to try and relieve some of the prominent anger in my stomach.
"You're not giving us much of a choice here, Justin." Mom continued.
I looked from her and to my dad. Unease settled within me - not any where near the first time today. "What did you do?" My voice was uncertain, my mother looked away, as if she was appalled, my father stared at his wife before sighing and turning his eyes back to me.
"We're sending you to boarding school."
The words knocked the wind out of me, "Boarding school?" I asked incredulously. My father nodded. "No." He raised an eyebrow at my sudden refusal. "No, I'm not going - it's not happening."
"Justin-" Mom started.
I shook my head. "They were two isolated events that just so happened to happen at the same time." Mom risked a glance at me, still upset that I had cut her off, but also curious to see me explain myself. "Look, the first one was warranted, I was..." I paused, looking for the right words. "Not being nice?"
My parents looked equally unimpressed. "What did you do?" My father sneered.
I grimaced, running my tongue over my teeth. "...I broke up with Allison."
Mom gasped. "You broke up with Allison!" She continued by sening herself into a wave of hysterics, I stood frozen while my dad tried to console her. I stared between her and my father.
"So Allison beat you up." He asked. I gave him a flat stare.
"No... but I may have given her the wrong idea, and her brother didn't like the idea that I had given her?"
My father looked even more unimpressed.
My mother looked horrified. "What did you do to that poor girl?"
I pressed my lips together. "Can we not tal-"
"What did you do?"
I sighed. "I didn't like her anymore than a friend, but she, as well as her family, might be under the impression that I- uh- broke up with her-becasueshewouldn'tsleepwithme."
I avoided the angry silence that followed.
"You what?"
I pursed my lips together. Just keep digging the hole for yourself, if you keep going you'll be in China and you won't have to deal with this.
"How on Earth did she manage to get that idea?" My father asked.
"Well- um-"
"Oh, Heaven's above, it's not true is it?"
