Why did this chapter take so long? I don't know but it's 2 in the morning and I wrote this so here you go.
Thanking y'all for your patience.Erik's mom^^
I expected myself to have a hangover of some sort when I woke up. I didn't know if there would be a huge difference the morning after drinking compared to a night of smoking. When I awoke feeling almost refreshed (mentally at least, after all it took almost half an hour to pull myself out of bed) I realized it was probably a bad idea to smoke on a school night.
I dragged my merry way to school, rushing because of my laziness earlier that morning, and ignored most of the general population when I got there. William was sitting on the steps out the front waiting for me, which had me doing a double take.
I didn't find Erik despite my searching eyes.
William was playing with his hands (not a good sign based on past experiences) and looked up to meet my eyes only after I kicked his leg.
I raised an eyebrow.
"I think I'm going to tell Stephanie today."
My face didn't move to show my shock, even if it was unintentional.
"Why...?"
Will's lips pressed together, as if he too was considering it. "Well if I don't do it today, chances are I never will."
I nodded slowly, "Right... so, on the chance that she says yes have you decided how to.. proceed?"
I didn't want to be the asshole that filled my best friend with doubt and worry, but I didn't want to be the kind that gave him false hope either.
"I was thinking of going to Temalí?"
I hummed, "Okay, that sounds good. What if she says no, though?"
Will opened his mouth quicker than when I asked in regards to a success. Almost as though he knew he'd get rejected. My heart clenched a little at the thought.
"I'll bottle my emotions inside like a real man and then cry myself to sleep later on."
I nodded. "Sounds good." I held my hand out after the bell rang. William held his hand out and I pulled him up with an over-exaggerated groan. "Fatass."
"You're the fat bitch," He scoffed and I turned offended eyes to him.
"I am a healthy weight for a growing person, thanks."
Will laughed, "You stopped growing, like, two years ago..."
I turned to him, with a shushing finger. "Shut up." I said waking through the doors, shoulder to shoulder with people who were suddenly in a rush to get inside. "I'm healthier than you."
Will scoffed, "How on earth are you healthier than me, you eat all the time and never exercise."
I listened as the bell rang, continuing to walk through clusters of people as they made their way to their homeroom.
"Will, you live off Redbull and Doritos, and only do exercise when it's you moving your thumbs on your Xbox."
"It's a PS4."
I rolled my eyes, shaking my head. "Trash."
I spied Stephanie down the hall and nudged Will's shoulder. I nodded my head in her direction, watching Will tense.
"Come on just do it."
I waited for the excuse to come. " Oh, I feel sick.", "She's busy.", "She'll just reject me anyway.". Every excuse under the sun had been utilised by Will at least once.
