Allison's dad^^
This is I guess the last chapter before things start getting a bit more plotty so enjoy :3
Two weeks passed uneventfully. I had a new morning routine; wakeup, shower, eat, brush my teeth, put in my contacts, and go pick up Allison.
Allison and I had grown closer, it still felt strange to call her my girlfriend, but I found it a little easier every time. William and I had two more people join our little table; Allison and Erik - who I didn't realize was so close to Allie.
We all got along fairly well, Will solved his lab partner problem when he found out Allison was in his class, and I had grown closer to Erik when we became lab partners for our class.
It was seemingly all working out - and, I was finally accustomed to Erik flicking my ears.
For the first time in a while, I felt optimistic. Optimistic that I could change the way I was and optimistic that I'd still have great friendships in the end.
Allison pulled me aside as the last bell went, her smile not timid anymore and her shoulders no longer tense. "So my dad wants to meet you..."
I raised an eyebrow, "Oh?" I tried not to chuckle at her. She seemed apprehensive enough.
"Yeah, so how does dinner this Saturday sound?"
We walked out among the other flock of students, breathing in the fresh air, "What time?"
Allie grinned, "Six sound good?"
I thought of my work schedule, knowing I was working Saturday, "Should be alright,"
She grinned again. "I'll see you tomorrow?"
Another part of the routine was that Allison would walk me out of school, say goodbye and then go back in for committee meetings. It worked and it was simple.
I pressed a chaste kiss to her lips, pulling away and smiling. "Yep, see you then."
I watched her re-enter the building and found myself sighing and walking down the pathway. For the first time in a while, I felt content with me life.
When I arrived home my mother pounced as usual, but this time with a glare. I frowned at her, my eyebrows creasing. "Everything alright...?"
"I don't know, Justin, you tell me." I gave her a blank stare. "Where were you during gym today?"
I thought back to my day, as far as I was concerned, I was in gym. "In gym?"
"Well according to Mr. Raymos, you weren't there, so I'll ask you one more time, where were you in gym today?"
I didn't let my gaze waver. "I was in gym. Mr. Raymos probably got it wrong, but I was there." She gave me a disbelieving stare. "Ask anyone, Mom, Will, Allison, Erik," I trailed off, looking over her shoulder as Sassie descended down the stairs.
This seemed to have caught her attention. "Allison and Erik? What are you doing hanging out with them - they're leaders of the committee, right?" I saw the hopeful look in her eye, "Are you trying to reconnect with God?"
I saw my sister grin evilly. "I think Justin should reconnect, it wouldn't do him any harm. We all can't keep worrying for him after all." I glared at her when Mom turned to face her.
"See Justin," her head snapped back in my direction, "Even Cassie thinks so, and she's not wrong, you do worry us quite a bit."
"Well I'm sorry to disappoint you even more, Mom," I watched her mouth open to deny it and then clamp shut when she realised I wasn't wrong. "But no, I'm not rekindling my faith, I'm dating Allison, and Erik's best friends with her so he's part of the package. Like Will is for Allison."
