"Something has clearly happened, so hurry up and spit it out."
Allison's words continued to circulate the room unanswered. A few minutes had passed perhaps, but it wasn't for nothing; it was a waiting game; a test of wills. Dylan continued his angry stare down, and I persisted in keeping my mouth shut. There was no doubt in my mind that if I spilled the beans, there would be hell to pay for it. Regardless of my need to wrong my rights, I don't imagine going home with a busted-up face would do me any good.
I am not boarding school material.
However, if Dylan were the one to let it slip, then at least he had the reassurance that Allison was his sister on his side. I know that if Sassie did the equivalent to what I had done, I probably wouldn't lay my hands into her. The main problem at hand was that I had come to value Allison as a friend; she was kind hearted and genuinely a lovely person, and she had managed to get Will to move on.
So yes, losing Allison wasn't a part of the agenda for today. Yet, I always managed to add a little disaster to every scenario, so who really knew which way this entire situation would go. Not well, I imagine.
I raised a challenging eyebrow at Dylan, egging him to say it so I wouldn't have to. Unfortunately, he seemed to have the same idea and returned the gesture.
I scowled at him. "I'm not doing it, forget it."
Allison crossed her arms, "Well someone will, and it better be soon, because I need a nap, so spill it already."
I glanced at Dylan, watching him glare in warning. "Look, it was in the past, do we really need to focus on it? I'm fine, Dylan's fine, it doesn't matter, right?"
Dylan shook his head resolutely. "No it doesn't."
Allison smirked – a rather strange sight considering I had never seen it before. "Then why is it such a big deal if I know?"
I groaned into my hands, Dylan ran his own through his hair. "I have a party in half an hour, so I gotta go..." Wow, fantastic attempt at escape there, Dylan.
Allison sent him a glare that had me freezing. The intensity of the look gave me the urge to tell all and it wasn't even directed at me. I couldn't even fathom how Dylan managed to stay calm and collected when it was directed at him.
Crossing her arms over her chest, Allison raised an irate brow at him. "Then I suggest you start talking or being late will we the least of your concerns."
Note to self: don't make Allison pissed off ever again.
Dylan sighed heavily, opening his mouth with a tsk. "Me and your boy toy made out." Excusing the part where my heart almost pumped out of my chest, I was vaguely surprised that he said it so... easily?
Alluding that I would have the balls to face Allison after such an admission was a lie I had actually sold to myself. Obviously there was no way I would be fine to jump straight into vigorous questioning; so, like the mature teen I am, I shoved my head down, and stared at my feet, hoping that I if couldn't see Allison, then she couldn't see me.
"You what?" Some silence stretched, "You're serious?" Either Dylan nodded or silence was all she needed to get the answer. "Dylan you need to stop doing this with every boy I meet, okay!"
