Chester's POV
"Chester Charles Bennington! Get up and come downstairs!" Mike yelled one morning at 9am. I groaned and rolled onto my back. Why the actual fuck was he yelling at me?

I sat up, looked at the calendar on the wall, and saw that it was July 27th which was our six month anniversary. I had comepletely forgot. I mean, I had gotten him a present, but I didn't realize just how close it was when I got it.

I got out of bed, went downstairs, and saw that Mike had went out of his way to make a big breakfast for us. I smiled and walked over to him. "Good morning, my love." Mike said as he put his arms around me. "Good morning. Happy 6 months." I said. "Oh that's today?" He asked jokingly. I looked up and he laughed. "I'm just kidding. Happy 6th months, baby. It's been the best six months of my life." "Mine too." I pulled him in for a kiss and then we sat at the table.

"How long did this take you to make?" I asked. "An hour or two. I've been up since six this morning. I couldn't go back to sleep because of how excited I was for today." He said. "I kind of just want to chill here until later and then I'll take you out." I smiled and nodded. "I got you a couple gifts as well obviously." He said.

"I got you some too. I have a strong feeling that whatever you got me is way better than what I got you." I said with a little sigh. "Hey, whatever you got me will be fine. You honestly didn't have to get me anything if you didn't want to. You're the best thing a guy could ever ask for." He said. I smiled a little.

We ate, took a shower, and then got dressed before exchanging gifts. "Okay you go downstairs and I'll bring you your gift." I said. Mike smiled. "Okay." I went to the closet and got out his gifts. I got him a bunch of random crap that I knew he'd like, but the highlight was a jar of 182 things I loved about him. I could've came up with way more, but since we had been together for six months and six months was 182.5 days, I figured it was perfect just to do that.

I went downstairs and found him sitting on the couch with flowers and a paper. I smiled and gave him his gifts and he gave me mine. The flowers were yellow roses which were my favorite. I never even told him that I loved yellow roses, so I wondered how he knew I'd like them. Then the piece of paper looked to be a handwritten poem or song lyrics.

"I know I said I was working on a song for you, but I apparently I don't know how to write a love song. So I figured I'd just write you a cheesy poem expressing my love to you." He said as I was reading it. We both laughed. "Thank you, Mike. It's beautiful." I said. "I have something else for you, but you'll have to wait till later." He said. I was obviously assuming something sexual, so I gave him a smirk. He laughed and shook his head. "No no. Nothing like that. I mean, we can do that, but I have something else." I turned a little red and smiled.

He looked at the jar and furrowed his eyebrows. "It's a jar of 182 things I love about you." I said. He smiled. "That is so fucking cute." He said. He opened the jar and pulled one out.

I love your smile. It's so beautiful and makes my heart beat faster everytime I see it.

He blushed, looked at me and smiled even bigger. I smiled back. "Thank you, but do you know who really has the best smile?" He asked. "Yeah you." I said. "No. You do. I love when you smile and that cute dimple shows. I love when you smile and your tongue peaks through your teeth a little." He said. I blushed and laughed a little. He pulled out another and read it.

He blushed again. "Aw, babe. These are all so sweet." He sat back into the couch, pulled a blanket over us and started reading all of the reasons why I loved him. He was smiling the entire time which made me so happy. I snuggled up to his side and watched him.

"How did you know yellow roses were my favorite?" I asked after a while. "I didn't know, but when I went to the flower store the yellow ones just reminded me of you. Also, you don't seem like the type that likes basic red roses." He said. I smiled. "They're beautiful. I hope they last a long time." I said. "Me too. I'm glad you like them."

We just cuddled on the couch for most of the day. I loved cuddles with Mike so much. Everything he did, from running his hand down my arm or kissing me on the head, was filled with so much love and made my heart swell.

At around seven that night, we went out to his car to go out. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Okay, so I know that on anniversaries people usually go out for a fancy dinner, but I was thinking we could just get pizza and go to the beach?" He said. I smiled. "That sounds perfect." I said. We went to a pizza place to get a pizza to go. "What kind would you like, my love?" He asked as we were waiting in line. I shrugged. "Pepperoni?" I said. "Okay. I'll get a pizza with half pepperoni and half pinapple." I looked at him with a disgusted face.

"You like pinapple pizza?!" I asked. "Yeah why?" "That is disgusting." I said. He just laughed. "Have you even tried it before?" He asked. "No, but fruit on pizza does not sound good." He laughed again. "See! You'll never know unless you try it." He said. I just laughed with him.

We got the pizza a couple drinks and then drove to Venice. Then we got out and found a spot on a concrete wall to sit and eat. "Honestly, this is better than a fancy restaurant." I said as I took a bite of pizza. "Yeah?" He said. I nodded. "There's no stuck up people that look at me weird here and there's a beautiful view." I said. He smiled. "The beach view is great, but you know what view is really amazing?" He asked. I chuckled a little already knowing what he was going to say. "What's that?" I asked. "You." He said. I smiled and blushed.

We ate a couple more slices of pizza and finished off our sodas before throwing our trash away, pulling off our shoes and going for a walk on the beach.

"I had an amazing day today." I said as we walked. "It was chill and laid back, but it was perfect." Mike looked over and smiled. "I had an amazing day too."

We walked and talked for a while and then Mike stopped us and turned toward me. He took both of my hands in his and smiled as he looked down a them. He stuck his hand in one of his pockets and pulled out a ring. My heart just about stopped.

"I know. It's scary." He said with a little laugh as he held up the simple silver ring. I nodded. "It's just a promise ring. I am so in love with you and I already know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you, but you're still young and I know you're not ready for marriage." He said. I smiled a little and nodded again.

"And that's okay. I'm not even ready for that yet. I want the timing to be perfect and at a place in our lives where we are both completely ready to embark on that chapter in our lives. I wanted to give you something that showed my commitment though, so you really know I'm in this for the long run. I figured a promise ring would be perfect. So, this one is for you and I have one for myself at home. I-uh... I hope you like it." He said.

I smiled and teared up a little. "Oh Mike. It's beautiful." I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He put his arms around my waist and kissed my cheek. "I'm glad you like it." He said. "I love it." I said as I pulled away. He took my hand and put it on me.

"I love you, Mike." I said. "I love you too, Chester." I pulled him in for a kiss before just hugging him for a while.

"I'm so fucking glad I met you." I said. "I'm glad I met you too. I'm glad I followed my heart and took a chance on you despite what everyone else said I should do. You're the best thing that ever happened to me Chester." I smiled.

"You mean the world to me, Mike, and I wouldn't be here without you. You make me so fucking happy." I said as little tears went down my face. Mike smiled and he pulled me in for another hug. "Aw baby, don't cry." He said.

"Come on. Let's go home." He said after a while. I smiled and nodded. He took my hand and we walked back up the beach, slipped on our shoes, found his car, and went home where we ended up not doing anything but cuddling until we fell asleep.
