Chapter 4: Triggered

Stargazing is one of my favorites— may it be on the roof o kaya naman ay sa burol but I prefer the latter. I've got different feelings kapag sa burol ko pinagmamasdan ang mga tala.

It's like I'm only one step away from them. That even with just one stretch of my arms, maabot ko na ito. Kapag sa burol, mas malapit ako sa mga bituin and to add the eerie feeling of the surroundings.

Sa bubong naman, I can notice the distance and I hate it. Parang sinasabi nito na it's out of reach at hanggang doon na lang ako. It's a vague representation of my dreams.

But now, everything has changed.

I couldn't look at the stars anymore like it took a big part of me. It was when shits happened and many emotions were triggered. It was when I loathe them the most and I hate the fact that I can do nothing about it.

Stargazing was once my favorite and I've got a thousand reasons to like it but now, a reason came to make me hate it and that one reason was enough to succumb the thousand reasons to like it. It was more than enough.

"Let's do the usual!" Masiglang suhestiyon ni  Liam

"Duh, ano pa nga ba?" Sagot naman sa kanya ni Shane

"Okay! 10:30 pm later." Liam added

No need to know my opinion, alam na nila yan. They know how dedicated I am when it comes to stars kaya I'm always in with that kind of plans.

We were talking about stargazing later tonight.  It was our so-called annual bond since yearly rin naman ito nangyayari.

Pumupunta kami sa burol during 10:30 at depende na sa amin kung anong oras uuwi.

May yearly shooting stars rin kasi na nangyayari mostly tuwing madaling araw. 

It's a nice scenery to witness. Rather witness this every year than have daily regrets.

The discussion went well then nagsalita na ako.

"Watch the shooting stars, later at 10:30, sa burol, tayo, trip lang and maglakad." Sabi ko answering the 5ws and 1h and that means bye.

Tumayo na ako galing sa pagkakaupo sa bench. Katabi ko si Shane na napalingon sa akin.

"Bye and ingat," sabi niya with her signature irap

Tinanguan ko si Liam na nasa damuhan umupo. Nandito kasi kami ngayon sa pasyalan na katabi ng Capitol.

Naglakad na ako papunta sa library. Nasa plano ko na yan kung hindi lang nambulabog yung dalawa kanina sa bahay. Hearing Shane's voice? We can't have peace on Castalium (name of our town  is divided as Caeruleum's place and the Brunneise's). Kaya wala akong choice kundi sumama.

Nakalimutan kong dalhin yung mga hiniram kong libro and tinatamad akong bumalik sa bahay para kunin 'yon so dumiretso na lang ako sa library.

It was the usual: Greet Aling Rene, Write my name for recording purposes, then search for books

Pagkatapos kong isulat yung pangalan ko ay dumiretso ako sa shelves sa last portion of the library. May magandang books daw kasi do'n sabi ni Shane.

After minutes of searching for a book ay may nakita akong libro na may magandang cover sa taas. Unfortunately, hindi ko maabot yung libro.

So what I did was, I held a part of the shelf for support then tumalon ako. I did it many times still, hindi ko maabot.

I've got this belief na what I want is what I get so how can I own what I want if I do nothing to have it?
