And this one is short.

As they walked into the mall, Nino kept on laughing but not too much, he was just marveled at her sense of humor. He started thinking about the Asma'u he knew before they started going out and the one he is with now. He had always thought she was too reserved and soft, but over the course of the period they've been dating, she had changed a lot. Although she is still soft, she could also be difficult at times.

'Zainabu! Zainabu!!'

'Zainabu? where?' Nino said Asma'u pointed towards the direction where Zibu was standing. As they walked towards her direction, the moments started regurgitating in Nino's head. Out of nowhere, a guy appeared behind her with 2 paper slips, handing one to her, it looked like a movie ticket. He didn't know how he was feeling at that moment, was it anger or happiness or a bit of both? but that wasn't the problem here, how was he going to act in front of her now.

Asma'u and Zainabu hugged and greeted each other, Nino just stood there smiling like nothing was going through his mind.

'Oga, Shake him now' Asma'u said

Nino's mind wasn't present, he didn't even notice when the other guy stretched his hand for a handshake.

'How far' Nino quickly stretched his hand forward.

'Aunty, who is this cutie with you like this, introduce us na' Asma'u winked at Zibu

'Stay one place' Zainabu said

Just as Zainabu was about to start the introduction, Nino's phone started ringing, he excused himself while the others got along.

'They've gone ne?' Nino asked

'Yes, they went to watch a movie' Asma'u replied

Nino and Asma'u walked towards the escalator

'I love that song' Asma'u said

'What song?' Nino asked with a blank look on his face

'The song that is playing now, can't you hear it?' Asma'u said

'In the mall? where every store is playing their own music and people are also talking' Nino wears a surprise face

'Ehen, anywhere I hear this song I can always pick it out' Asma'u said smiling

'What's the name of the song' Nino asked

'Fade Into You by Mazzy Star, the song makes me blush every time' Asma'u replied with so much smile on her face

Nino's face was a mix of surprise and dumbfounded 'This is serious'

'So where are you taking me to'

'Like I said earlier, to a herbalist' Nino said

Asma'u stopped walking, folded her arms

'you are going to tell me where we are going to or I will start screaming'

'Just follow me now, it's a surprise'

'hmmm, toh' she continued walking

They ended up at a private cinema in the mall, at first Asma'u was skeptical but the sight of the room was soothing. A 105-inch HD TV with a Dolby surround sound system, nice polished brown leather chairs with blankets in case it got too cold. She was already in heaven, she never knew this kind of place existed in the mall.

It was the last week of the holidays, Nino wasn't particularly excited about going back to school. He enjoyed the holiday because it was a full house, his dad was around which made it fun. Even though they don't really talk much but it was always fun having him around, he made everyone laugh with his jokes. Growing up for Nino was a bittersweet experience, his dad was a very strict man. Every mistake was backed by ass-whooping, most kids of the 90s would understand this. It got so bad that whenever Nino's dad came back from work, everybody would leave the parlor and go back to the room. Over time, the dad became easy on him but the little distance was still there. Notwithstanding, Nino loved his dad and the kind of relationship they had.
