The second semester had started heading towards the second gear, and it's been 3 weeks since Nino and Asma'u fought and till now she hasn't still giving him a chance to explain himself. He had tried calling, sending text messages, sending letters through Zibu and even attending some of her lectures just to get her attention but she wasn't bulging. Nino was starting to get pissed, he didn't do anything wrong per se, if she could just give him a chance to explain, she would understand what happened that night. He wasn't the type to include people into issues disturbing his relationship but when push came to shove he had to look for help outside. He went to see his friend Bashar to talk to him about the conundrum that has been his source of woe for the past weeks. Bashar was older than him maybe he could explain somethings about women Nino hadn't discovered yet. 'Patience' was the only thing Bashar kept saying
'Yaro kasan mace sai da hakuri' the only thing Bashar said to him
Bashar had made him understand that what he perceived as being good or bad in this issue doesn't really matter but what Asma'u thought, because she doesn't know what fully transpired between him and Sadiya.
'Ama yanzu hakuri za kayi kawai' Bashar said
'toh Bashar tun da haka kace, ya zanyi' Nino replied him
Nino sank his face in his palms, thinking of his next move, Bashar didn't really help with the whole 'Hakuri' thing.
As they sat in the shop, a customer came to Bashar's stand
'Assalamu Alaikum'
'Wa'alaikumu salam, kostoma sanu da zuwa' Bashar stood up to attend to her with a lot of enthusiasm
Nino recognized the voice, he raised his head to confirm it was Zibu
'Anty, how far?'
'Unku, what are you doing here, you sell kayan marmarri now?'
'Kun san juna kenan?' Bashar said as he gave Zibu fruits 'Ina kawayen ki, su Dai'ba da Polake da Shamsiyya?'
'Shamsiyya kuma, Asma'u dai' Zibu said
'a, haka ne, ya suke?' Bashar asked
'Su na nan lafiya, Folake da Dai'ba sun fara IT'n su, Asma'u tana wurin mai kayan miya gata nan zuwa ma'
Nino looked at the direction Zibu was pointing at to check for Asma'u, she was looking very beautiful as usual, immediately he saw her, he felt a sharp pain in his chest, he realized how much he missed her. He just stood there watching her walk, it was like she pitied the ground. He wondered how someone could be so beautiful and this dramatic at the same time.
'Look at her, she looks so innocent' he shook his head as he murmured to himself
'Come unku, you know Bashar too' Zibu asked him
'a, he is my family member na' Nino was still looking at Asma'u walking towards Bashar's stall
'Ai aboki na ne sosai' Nino still looking at Asma'u walk towards their direction, Asma'u had not seen him yet, she stopped by another stand to get green peas.
'Yaro, ita ce Asma'u?' Bashar said
Nino didn't hear him the first time, Bashar nudged Nino and repeated the question again
'a, ita ce wallahi' Nino replied
Asma'u raised her head up to look for Zibu, she had seen her collecting the fruits from Bashar. In no time she was in front of his shop, she saw Nino standing there speechless, her mind melted, her prince charming, he never gave up, even with all the drama and tantrums she had pulled. She knew she had put him through a lot, like she couldn't believe he would go as far as following her to the market just to get her attention. She remembered the first night she and Nino hung out after he asked her out, what he said about quarrels. She knew she had stretched this too far, but she was willing to let this go. What really pissed her off that day was a statement he made
