Nino went back into the room and met 2 nurses attending to Farisa, even though she was still deeply asleep.

'Did she wake up at all?' Nino tapped Chioma, she was deep in thoughts

'No, not at all' Chioma shook her head

'Ok' Nino was worried

'But the doctor said she would be stable soon, why isn't she awake yet' he thought to himself

'Nurse, will she be alright?' Nino asked one of the nurses attending to Farisa

'Yes, don't worry yourself' the nurse reassured him with a smile on her face

'Chioma, I have to go to school now. I have somethings to attend to. in case she wakes up or something comes up just call me'

'Ok then'

Nino drove out of the hospital as he made his way to school to meet Dai'ba. He picked up his phone and dialed her number

'I am on my way, will be there in 5 minutes' Nino said

Dai'ba dropped the call and looked at Asma'u snuggled under her blanket at the other end of the room. She was looking blankly into nothingness with her eyes full of tears. Dai'ba walked to her bedside and tried to console her.

Folake walked into the room and met them talking, she was surprised to Asma'u crying

'What is doing this one?' Folake threw her bag on her bed, she thought it was one of those "Asma'u" moments

'Please don't add fuel' Dai'ba cautioned her

Folake decided not to go home for the Christmas break, everyone at home was traveling to the village for the break. She didn't want to join them instead she wanted to take this free time to do more research on her project.

As Nino drove past the streets leading up to the main road, He thought about everything that happened between him and Asma'u, He couldn't believe She was breaking up with him. He tried to figure out where it all went wrong but he couldn't. One minute everything was alright and the next minute its all gone south.

Nino finally arrived school, he pulled up in the parking lot close to Dai'ba's hostel and then dialed her number

'Ina waje' he said on the phone

'Yeah, na ganka. I am behind you'

Dai'ba was worried about Nino, the last time a girl broke up with him it took months before she could have a meaningful conversation with him. She was worried he was going to crawl back into his shell. Dai'ba knew everything that was happening with Asma'u, she knew Asma'u was close to some other guy but she didn't want to interfere. She thought Asma'u would be able to handle herself but clearly, that never happened.

Dai'ba opened the door on the passenger side of the car

'Assalamu alaykum' she closed the door and fixed her gaze on Nino. She tried to find pain and despair in his eyes but none was there. He just looked worried but not as worried as someone that just got heartbroken.

'Wa Alaykum salam' Nino wore a blank look on his face.

'How is she?' Nino sounded really tired

'She is not fine. What did you do to her?'

'I didn't do anything, I hope this isn't one of those her shenanigans because this is becoming tiring '

'I don't think so' Dai'ba said so calmly as she looked out the window
