'What happened? Who was that?' Asma'u sounded really bothered

'It's a friend of mine' Nino started the car 'she is really sick and stranded in front of the sickbay'

'Should I come with you?' Asma'u was really concerned

'No don't worry, just go back to your room, I will call you anjima with an update'

Asma'u stood and watched as Nino drove off the car park, he was really in a haste. As she worked back to her room, she couldn't help but think who this friend was.

Nino stepped on the break so hard the marks of the tire appeared on the tar. He stepped out to where Chioma and Farisa were, Farisa was laying flat on one of the benches in front of the sickbay while Chioma frantically tried to revive her. Nino picked her up, she felt so weightless and cold, he placed his ear close to her nose to listen to her breath but he could hardly hear anything. He rushed to the car and Chioma followed behind crying. He managed to slide her into the backseat of the car and rushed to the driver's side of the car. Chioma got into the front passenger seat still crying.

'What happened? Why were you guys sitting outside in this cold?!' Nino was angry and concerned at this same time. He sped out of the school to one of the best clinics around the school. They rushed her in and the nurses managed to get Farisa stabilized. They placed her on drip almost immediately and the doctor on call was taking his readings. Chioma and Nino were asked to stay in the waiting area so as not to obstruct the doctor and nurses from doing their work. Chioma sat on the couch in the waiting area crying quietly while Nino paced back and forth with his sight fixed on the entrance door to the patient ward.

'Chioma...' Nino sat beside her 'What happened?'

She narrated everything to him up until the part where the nurse at the sickbay in school told her that there was no bed space to put Farisa on.

'Are you fucking kidding me?' Nino held his head, he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

'So, if there was no one for you to call, that's how they would have allowed a sick person die in front of them?' Nino stood up 'This is really worrisome, I hope she will be ok'

'I hope so too' Chioma said in between sobs.

2 hours later, the doctor came out from the patient ward and walked towards the waiting area where he met Nino and Chioma already fast asleep. He lightly tapped Nino on the shoulders, Nino jerked so swiftly he startled the doctor.

'Hey, calm down. She will be alright' the doctor chuckled as he stretched his hand forward for a handshake. Nino stood up and shook his hand.

'How is she?' Nino sounded really worried

'She will be fine, in shaa Allah' the doctor sounded really relaxed which in turn made Nino a little bit easy about the situation

'By the way, my name is Yaseer. Doctor Yaseer. Don't worry we will make sure your friend is Ok. But first of all, where are her parents?'

'They stay in Kano, she is a student in the university' Nino sounded so relaxed.

'Don't worry yourself too much' the doctor put his left hand on Nino's shoulder

'Let's talk in my office I know it's late but we need to talk'. Nino and Yaseer walked to the office before they left for the office Yaseer instructed a nurse to show Chioma to the duty lodge and give her proper bed to sleep on.

Nino was very tired, he watched as Yaseer flipped through some papers in a file. A nurse came into the office with a paper and handed it over to doctor Yaseer. Nino watched as Yaseer went through the content of the paper, his facial expression wasn't encouraging at all. Nino wondered if it was related to Farisa.
