Episode 15

Sadiyah had always been the jovial type, very outspoken and somewhat loud, she is an easily lovable person what the Hausas will call 'Mai Farin jini'. To Sadiyah, the relationship was very good but she felt like she needed more and the distance was just not working for her. To Nino it was different, he believed distance shouldn't be a problem for couples as far as the love was present, they could still find way to make it work. Well, Sadiyah had so many boys around her.

After the breakup, Nino had decided never to have anything to do with her again, but here she was hugging him and he was dumbfounded. He didn't know whether to push her away or be happy about seeing her. Asma'u and Sadiyah had never crossed path before, so she didn't really know what was going on here.

'This one you are looking at me like a ghost, so you are not happy to see me' Sadiyah said

Nino looked at her with so much disgust on his face, so many thoughts ran through his mind

'Should i hiss and walk away?' or 'hmmm, maybe i should push her into this gutter' alot of things were going through his mind, he finally settled for one. He held Asma'u' hand, he walked away without uttering a word. Asma'u noticed something was off, she knew something was wrong.

'Should i ask?' Asma'u said

with a big frown on his face 'Not now, will tell you about it anjima'

'Ok, toh smile now. If you see how ugly you look right now' Asma'u said as she tried to tickle him.

Nino tried to smile but he couldn't, he was already angry, he couldn't believe she could be this jovial, after the pains she caused him. He didn't want to show this side of him to Asma'u, at least not yet.

'Should I be worried?' Asma'u asked again

'Not at all, I am sorry about that. So where were going to ma?' Nino asked, he was trying to calm himself down. He didn't want to spoil the night for her.

'You said you wanted to get suya for the girls' Asma'u said

'Oh.. yes!' he said, they held hands as they walked down to the Mai-Suya's place. He got the suya for them and also collected a bag from the Mai-Suya.

'What's that?' Asma'u pointed at the bag Nino was holding

'It's yours but till you get to your hostel before i will give it to you' He said

They walked down to her hostel, all smiles and happy, they got drinks from Sule's shop and then said their good byes. The girls had been waiting for Asma'u, they didn't want to call her so as not to cause any disturbance. Folake was already dozing off, Zibu was on her phone chatting while Dai'ba was completing her assignment. The door opened slowly, as the squeaking noise from the hinges filled the silent room, Folake opened her eyes, Zibu and Dai'ba looked towards the door.

'Assalamu alaikum' Asma'u said as she pushed the door open. Folake rushed to her side to help her with the bags.

'Wa'alaikumu salam' Dai'ba said as she tried to come down from her bed

'Which one contain chops?' Folake asked as she tried to collect some of the things Asma'u was holding. Asma'u gave her the bags with the drinks and Suya, Folake was very happy, the girls didn't cook anything, they all gave excuses of being too tired to go to the market.

Zibu crossed her legs on the bed, with a smile on her face 'Inye! Inye!! Someone has gone out on her first date'

'It wasn't a date joor, we just hung out. Well the suya is for you guys' Asma'u replied

Folake was already feasting on the suya, Dai'ba grabbed the bag from her 'Kin ci naki kenan'

'Haba it was just testing now, do you know if it was actually poisoned, now i am going to die alone' Folake said

'Just look at what this one is saying' Zibu said as she turned to face Asma'u. 'So how was it?'

All the girls turned their attention towards her, i mean, this is what they have all been waiting for all night.

'I can see he even got you gifts' Folake said as she was trying to look into the bag. Dai'ba hit her hand 'is it your own? better stay on place now'

'Can't you see she is just blushing any how. So anything special happened?' Dai'ba asked

'Everything was special, except when one girl like that invaded us, i think she is Nino's enemy or something' Asma'u said

'Girl ke? Maybe it's one of his course mate' Zibu said

'I don't think so, she hugged him immediately she saw him, the weird thing was Nino didn't hug her back, he just stood there, we even left her standing' Asma'u said

'Have you ever seen her before?' Folake asked

'Nope, he was even kind of angry afterwards and he didn't want to talk about it' Asma'u replied her

'This is serious, well, since she didn't spoil the night, i am ok then' Dai'ba said

'Can we eat now?' Folake asked

Dai'ba looked at her meanly 'You have eaten half of yours already, so you will eat just small'

They sat down together to eat except Asma'u who was checking out the things Nino got for her. The girls admired it from where they were sitting, they were all happy for her.

Nino laid down on his bed, his head resting on his hands, he wasn't ready for this whole Sadiyah thing. Now old feelings were brewing up in his heart, he knows they are probably fake but it's just sickening to him.

'What is she even doing here in the first place' he muttered

She is a fresh student in one of the universities in Ilorin, her brother also just got admitted but in Nino's school. She has an uncle that stays in Zaria, Nino didn't know about her uncle or brother. As he laid on the bed still thinking, his phone rang, it was Fa'ad

'Guy how far?' Nino said

'Guy result don drop oo, i dey look my own like this, people no plenty' Fa'ad said

'So how far your own, any problem' Nino asked him

'Nope, everything good and nice' Fa'ad replied

'Oya help me go check my own abeg, you know my reg number na' Nino said

'Just send am come, make i no go mix am up' Fa'ad said

Nino sent him his reg number almost immediately, carry over wasn't an option he didn't want any F-grade on his score sheet. Nino paced in his room, checking his phone every ten seconds, like the ring tone and vibration of his phone wasn't enough to notify him when a call or message comes in. After about 25 minutes of nerve wrecking anxiety, Fa'ad finally called

'Hello, how far' Nino said

'Chairman!!! you wicked' Fa'ad said

'Guy talk now, how the result be' Nino said

'Very good, No F, No E, No D, 2 Cs, 2 Bs and 3 A' Fa'ad said

'Ahhh! Alhamdulillah' Nino said

He was very relieved, he just didn't want to see an E or F on his score sheet, they could cause serious damage to his GP.

'Guy, thanks man' Nino said

'Ehen, how far you and Asma'u na, I see una dey hold hand this night for side of chemistry department' Fa'ad said

'We just go stroll ne' Nino said

'No dey wyn me, why you no carry Folake go stroll' Fa'ad said

'hahaha, guy as i dey escort Asma'u go hostel, na him i see Sadiyah for road, see as i confuse' Nino said

'Una follow through Ilorin as una dey come? because i no understand' Fa'ad asked

'Me sef still dey surprised' Nino said

'Guy we go gist tomorrow, make i enter hostel sleep' Fa'ad said

Nino's mind was at rest now, at least something to steer his mind off the whole Sadiyah issue. He pulled his laptop to his bed side, got on the Internet to download some series. His phone beeped, it was a message from Sadiyah.

'What does she want now' Nino said to himself
