It was the last week of first semester exams, most students were exhausted in every way you could think of, they couldn't wait for the exams to be over even though the break was going to be a short break. Students in their final year didn't have the luxury of going home, most of them had to stay back and start their project research. For those that were yet to get their topics accepted, well, they had a long way to go. Folake and Dai'ba were lucky enough to have gotten their project topic accepted and they had even started doing research on their respective topic.

The girls sat in the room reading their books, Folake and Zibu were on the floor with their backs leaning against Folake's bunk, Dai'ba laid on her bed flipping through her note while Asma'u sat on the praying mat at the other end of the room.

'ni wallahi I am hungry' Folake dropped the book she was reading. No one in the room responded, everyone just kept on reading, even Zibu that was sitting close to her was so engrossed in what she was reading.

'toh, since no one is hungry, I am going downstairs to eat' Folake stood up to go get dressed

'can I follow you?' Zibu dropped the book she was reading too. She got her hijab and put it on. Folake and Zibu left the room to go get themselves something to eat.

'Wallahi, I can't wait for exams to finish' Zibu walked ahead as they walked down the stairs 'the awkwardness in the room is not even funny anymore'

'the thing taya me sef' Folake sauntered behind 'not like I was really hungry sef, I just wanted to get away from the room for a moment'

'ama wallahi Asma'u bata kyauta ba' Zibu said

They continued talking until they got to the cafeteria, they got what they wanted and left.

Nino was finally done with his exams, he was ready for the new adventure that awaited him in Kano. He sat in his car which was parked in the parking lot of Fa'ad's department. He had been sitting there for what seemed like forever even though it was just 10 minutes. If there was one thing Nino hated in life, that would be "Waiting". Nino continued playing '8 ball pool' on his phone whilst waiting for Fa'ad to submit his I.T acceptance letter to the department's secretary. He stopped playing the game, he wasn't really feeling it, he decided to call Farisa and check up on her.

'Hello' Nino smiled

'ba kayi sallama ba yaya' Farisa said at the other end of the line

'sorry, Salamu alaykum'

'Wa'alaykum salam, how are you?' Farisa chuckled

'I am fine' Nino stretched a little and sighed 'and you?'

'I am good, I was about to call you but I was waiting to get back to the hostel'

'oh ok. Any problem?' Nino sounded a little bit concerned

'No, nothing. Kawai dei I wanted to ask you if you were free tonight maybe we could hang out or something' Farisa rolled her eyes 'you know since we are done with exams'

'hmmm' Nino let out a little laugh

'and everything on me, just come looking nice' Farisa said shyly

'Farisa Garba Mukhtar, Are you asking me out?' Nino chuckled

'no jooorr' Farisa paused for a while 'Ok, yes I am asking you out on a date'
