Episode 31

First of all, I think I need to apologize for not posting in a long while. Had a writer's block and it has been hard to shake off.

Well, I hope you enjoy this episode and I hope to write frequently now. Once more I am sorry for the long absence.

Two weeks in the hospital and no one had been able to talk to Dai'ba yet. The doctor had to place her in a medically-induced coma, to allow her brain to heal. She hit her head so hard when she fell off the bike that her brain started swelling. Folake laid on the couch across the room sleeping so peacefully, the repeated beep sound from the ECG filled the room, it was so peaceful. The beep from the ECG started beating faster, Folake woke up sluggishly, as she looked across the room, she saw Dai'ba's hands moving gently. She rushed to her side and saw Dai'ba trying to open her eyes.

Folake rushed out of the room to call any nurse she could find. As soon as she stepped out she saw one of the nurses that always came to check up on Dai'ba

'Good! good!' Folake almost ran into her

'She is waking up!!' Folake dragged the nurse by her left hand 'please be fast!'

'Ok! Ok! Calm down. I am not running away' the nurse replied.

They rushed into the room, Dai'ba's eyes were fully opened. She was looking around the room with surprise.

'Where am I?' she said so softly

'You are in the hospital' the nurse replied her whilst she checked out the figures on the ECG monitor.

'Dai'ba! Dai'ba!!' Folake squealed with excitement

Dai'ba looked at the person smiling in front of her with surprise

'Who is this and why is she jumping with excitement in front of me?' she thought to herself. 

Folake noticed the surprise on Dai'ba's face, it left her confused.

'wait, why is this one looking at me like how you look at food that you didn't order in the restaurant' Folake thought to herself.

'look after her while I go get the doctor on call to come check on her' the nurse quickly left the room

'ok, I will' Folake was bemused

'Sorry' Dai'ba slightly adjusted her head on the pillow

'Can you pass me a cup of water, I am thirsty'

'Yup,' Folake rushed to get her a cup of water. She helped Dai'ba situp so that she would be able to drink the water. Dai'ba sipped from the cup thrice before laying back on the bed again. She started feeling a severe headache that sent her laying back.

She shut her eyes for a moment to allow the pain disperse. Folake quickly brought out her phone to call Nino.

'She is awake! She is awake!' Folake squealed on the phone. She hung up the call before Nino could say anything back. Dai'ba opened her eyes again, to see someone smiling sheepishly in front of her.

'Sorry, Please who are you?' She asked so softly and politely

That question took all the joy in Folake's face away

'Wait, did this stupid girl just ask me "Who are me?"' Folake stood still for a moment.

'Dai'ba? It's me Folake' Folake walked towards the bed. Dai'ba was still bemused, she couldn't remember the face.
