"Did you seriously just give up Ryukyu for Mother Teresa?" Tomiko deadpanned.
I smiled awkwardly and nodded my head, "Yeah, but I swear I had no idea that you chose her as well!" I exclaimed, rubbing the back of my neck.
We were both walking up towards the office that Mother Teresa was at. I ran a hand through my hair as I looked around the building, amazing by what I saw.
"This place sure is-"
"Annoying? Extravagant? Dull?" Tomiko guessed, casting a glance towards me.
"Do you even know what extravagant means?" I asked.
"Don't know, don't care," She bluntly responded, folding her arms over her chest.
I adjusted the bag on my shoulders and looked at her, rolling my eyes, "So rude," I mumbled sarcastically.
She shot me a grin and spoke, "I never realized," The sarcasm in her voice made me chuckle.
"What are you two doing all the way up here?" A voice asked. I yelped in surprise and whiped around.
A tall lady with red hair and vibrant green eyes stood there. Around her head was a crown of exotic flowers. Her hero outfits was a plain green. The top being a skin tight while she wore a flowy skirt that reached her knee caps. She wore knee high boots and a pair of green gloves. It was Mother Teresa.
"You're supposed to meet me in my office, not the roof," She scolded.
My cheeks flushed red and a sheepish smile gathered on my lips. "Oh! Well- uhm, we did-"
"No one told us where your office is, so we wandered around. We were bound to find you eventually," Tomiko explained with a shrug, though her cheeks were as red as mine.
Mother Teresa chuckled quietly and spoke, moving to look at us, "What do you call yourselves for starters?" She asked.
"Oh, I like to be called Kit," I immediately responded.
"Electric Girl,"
Mother Teresa looked at me for a moment before smiling, "Let's go to my office so we can talk, yes?" She suggested.
"Let's go!" I exclaimed excitedly.
Mother Teresa chuckled lightly before walking towards the elevator. Tomiko let out a light scoff and looked at me, "Whatever happened to staying calm?" She teased.
I rolled my eyes and flicked her with my tail before quickly following after the pro hero. Tomiko followed me.
We got to her office pretty quick. The first thing I noticed was that I was next to a window and the entire thing was made of glass. A fan stood in a corner of the room, providing some coolness as the hot sun beamed into the room. Multiple plants hanged from the roof or stood in organized piles on the corners. Every now and again I'd see some kind of flower. In another corner Mother Teresa even had herself a small fountain with tiny fish swimming in it.
"So, Kit," Mother Teresa looked at me, "I worked under you mother, she was great at what she did. You two have a lot in common," She informed.
Her green eyes switched to Tomiko and she spoke, "Electric Girl, it was drawn to my attention that you wanted to specifically work for under Solar Moon?" She asked.
Tomiko grinned happily and nodded her head, "Yeah, its been a dream to work for him. He's pretty badass and we've got similar quirks," She shrugged, "Except his deals with actual light,"
"Alright, follow me then. Kit, stay here. Make yourself comfortable," With those words she was gone.
I set my bag down and looked around. On her desk there were multiple pictures crowding around. I picked a random one up to see Mother Teresa with her arm around a younger looking female.
The female looked like she was in her very late teens or early twenties. She looked oddly familiar. She had a pinkish complexion and appeared to have very smooth skin. She wore a mouthgaurd that covered the lower half of her face, but underneath it were patches of skin that appeared darker than the rest of her skin. It looked like a large scar. Her bair was black, but the tips of her hair are multiple colours. Blonde, mint green, and sky blue. Her eyes attracted my attention the most. They weren't normal at all. They started out a dark green, almost black, on the outside, but as it made its way to where her pupils should've been it got brighter. Instead of the typical black pupil, hers were a bright neon green.
"Thats my step sister," Mother Teresa's voice made me jump in panic. I quickly set the picture down and looked at her, rubbing my neck sheepishly.
"S-Sorry! I just got curious!" I exclaimed nervously.
"Its fine," A hint of sadness laced her voice despite the smile on her lips.
I looked at her, "W...what happened to her?" I asked quietly.
"She turned bad," Was all I got, "Became a villain," She finished.
My heart skipped a beat as I looked at her, "I-I'm sorry, Mother Teresa. I shouldn't have asked," I mumbled.
"Its fine. In the mean time, however, We need to talk about you're future as a hero," She stated, "But before anything else, call me Rina,"
Rina sat down at her desk and looked at me, her green eyes peering into mine. "Your mother, did you name yourself after her?" She asked.
"Yes," I nodded my head and sat in the chair in front of her.
"Do you realize she did the same, except her father was Sir Cat?" My lips twitched upwards in amusement, but I shook my head.
"No, but Sir Cat? Really?" A giggle left my lips and Mother Teresa smiled softly.
"I agree, but as for you, Kit," She leaned towards me, "We've got one week together, and I have plans for you," She stated.
I nodded and looked at her, my happy mood deteriorating as she carried on, "You will be staying with me, my husband, and my daughter. Every morning at four in the morning, we will wake up for a little training, then carry on with our day," She informed.
My eyes widened slightly. She was going to let me stay with her family? That was..unexpected. "Now, the whole point of this workplace is for us to pick out some of the overlooked heroes with seemingly simple quirks. To everyone you are just a cat, but to me I can see a lot of promise in your eyes. I was watching the little festival thing, and I wasn't able to get a recommendation for you, so I got Tomiko in hops of getting you here. You two make an excellent team, and that jump was fucking amazing," She informed with a grin.
"Thanks," I mumbled, my cheeks flushing.
"But you also had way to many downs then ups," I looked at her in shock as she carried on, "For starters, that little boyfriend of yours seemed to occupy most of your mind. You made it to obvious that he's a soft spot for you. Thats the only reason I believe you lost that battle against the golden girl," She scanned my shocked features, "Well, actually. There are a lot. You weren't determined enough, until she said something that pushed you over the edge. You made it clear to me that your greatest weakness is either that boy, or something from your past,"
"You cannot make that stuff noticeable, Kit. It very well may be the death of you,"
