*Two months later*
Laying sprawled out on the sidewalk, a low groan left my lips as I painfully clutched my ribcage. It was a villain that I was fighting. Tomiko had already gone down, leaving me and Arashiko. The three of us had been hanging out for the day when we spotted a villain.
Blood dripped down from my head and a nick in the left cat ear on top of my head stung. I felt an arm grab me and pull me up, and I spotted Arashiko. She looked tired, exhausted even.
Her arms were covered in blood from overusing her quirk and she had quiet a few cuts on her face and anywhere else. A frown creased her forehead as she looked at me.
"Are you seeing doubles?" She asked impatiently, "You hit your head pretty hard," She informed.
I scowled at her and spoke, "I'm fine, just a small bump," I replied, "Anything-"
"Kit!" I turned to look over my shoulder, seeing Mother Teresa there in her suit, "Get to safety, and that goes to your friend!" She ordered.
Arashiko nodded her head and grabbed my arm, dragging me over to where Tomiko was safely out away. A suddenly noticed something I hadn't a long time ago.
In my side was a shard of glass embedded into my skin, blood seeping from the wound. Now that adrenaline had faded, I felt the pain and a gasp left my lips. Arashiko, who seemed to have noticed it before me, had already forced me onto the ground, her hand wrapped around the shard to pull it out.
My eyes widened and I quickly stopped her, "What are you doing?!" I exclaimed, yelping in pain as she moved it in the slightest as she released it.
"Pulling it out," She informed.
"No! Wait til the fucking paramedics..." I let my head fall back, tiredly, "Let the..paramedics do it," I mumbled.
Arashiko looked at me, her eyes narrowed angrily and she spoke, "You're a dumbass, Kaede," She snapped, "For all we know it could be killing you right now," She reached for it only to be slapped away.
"Stop! For all we know," I mimicked, sending her a glare, "As soon as you pull it out I could gush out blood and fucking die," I retorted.
Arashiko suddenly scoffed and nodded her head, "Fine," She muttered.
I relaxed and let my head fall back, looking up at the sky with a small sigh. I didn't want to die. Not at all. I still had to apologize to Hitoshi.
The day previous the two of us had gotten into an agrument. Why? Because ever since Natsumi's death I had been training nonstop. In Hitoshi's words it was a slow suicide and the argument carried on from that. It ended with him storming off.
"He'll come around, you know," Arashiko suddenly informed, "Everyone in the damn school can see how much he loves you just by the way he looks at you," Arashiko chuckled quietly.
"He's right though," I admitted, pulling my hand from where it laid, pressed against the blood stained shirt, "It was a slow suicide. I just never realized it," I replied, glancing at her.
Arashiko looked at me from where she was with a ditzy Tomiko. "You do it because you don't like to be home, right?" She asked, and I nodded in return, "Then go on walks, it soothes the mind," She shrugged.
I smiled and didn't say anything else, I simply looked back up, hearing multiple sirens zooming close. I could hear the chattering of a news reporter, everynow and then I would hear the hero names we chose and Mother Teresa and a few others.

The world's worst headache made itself known to me as I stirred in the spot I was in. My brows furrowed from the pain and a quiet groan left my lips.
I forced my eyes open and almost immediately I heard someone shoot up. I turned my head to see Hitoshi sitting there, his purple eyes slightly red and worried.
As soon as our eyes connected, his shoulders slumped in relief and he let out a breath. He rubbed his face in his hands before looking at me, his hands still on his face. Before I could say anything he spoke in a shaky, relieved voice.
"I was so worried," He whispered, "They..." He swallowed thickly, "When I got here..they said that..that they were trying to uh, save you," He informed me.
I tilted my head confused, "Save me?" I repeated.
"Yeah, you uhm..you're heart stopped for a few minutes," He lowered his head, hiding his voice from me. He didn't say anything, but based on the way he was, he might've been crying.
"Hitoshi," I whispered softly, moving a hand onto his shoulder, "I'm fine now...and I'm sorry for the last two months," I whispered.
Hitoshi only shook his head, refusing to look at me, "I don't care about that anymore, just don't do it again," He whispered.
I nodded my head, moving my hand from his shoulder to the side of his face. I could feel wet marks on his face and immediately frowned, forcing his head up to look at me. Hitoshi spoke before me.
"I almost lost you, Kaede. I don't want to lose you," He whispered, grabbing my hand and pulling it up to his lips, "You're the best goddamn thing that's ever happened to me,"
I couldn't resist the smile that gathered on my lips, I moved to grab him and pull him into the bed, which he didn't hesitate to do. I looked at Hitoshi and spoke quietly, "Don't worry anymore, Hitoshi, okay? You can't shake me off that easily, you should know that better than anyone," I joked.
Hitoshi gave me a small smile and wrapped his arms around me. "I'm glad you stuck around," He whispered, "Even if you are a pain in the ass at times,"
