A loud gasp left my lips as I felt a sudden weight slam ontop of my body. I heard girlish giggles and my eyes snapped open to see Natsumi grinning mischeviously. A low groan sounded from behind me and I turned my head to see Hitoshi, eyes closed. He was obviously awake as he rested his hand on his shoulder blade, which Natsumi seemed to have crushed beneath her knee.
"Natsu," I began, glaring at her.
She let out a squeal and scrambled off of us before bolting out the door screaming, "DINNER IS READY!" I rolled my eyes and sat up. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and stretched my arms.
"I didn't hear them come in," Hitoshi mumbled. My cheeks reddened at the sound of his voice. It was hoarse from the lack of usage and it sounded tired. I liked it. Hitoshi glanced at me, "You okay, Kaede?" He asked.
I snapped out of my daze and nodded, "Yeah, of course," I smiled at him and ran a hand through my hair, "Y-You're staying for dinner?" I questioned.
Hitoshi glanced towards the door as it opened, revealing Rei, "I don't really have a choice at this point," He informed, looking over at me.
I watched Rei scramble to get her jacket and then bolt out the door and smiled at Hitoshi, "Good," I replied, standing to my feet.
Hitoshi sent a small smile in my direction before glancing at his phone. He frowned slightly and spoke, "I gotta call my dad back, okay?" He glanced at me.
I nodded my head and walked over, pressing a quick kiss to his head. Before I could walk off, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back. He brought me closer to him and pressed a kiss to my lips. My cheeks burned at the sudden kiss, and then he pulled away, releasing my arm. "Tell them I'll be out in a bit," He requested.
I smiled at him, "I will," I responded before walking out the door.
I walked down the hall and into the kitchen with a beaming smile. My eyes landed on my brother, Shou. The smile that was on my lips grew in size.
"Shou!" I happily exclaimed.
The tall male turned around with a grin, "Kaede!" He greeted, wrapping me in a strong hug and lifting me off my feet before dropping me down. He suddenly grabbed my shoulders and spoke, "What these people say, is it true?" He was starting to sound childish, "Does my darling baby sister already have a boyfriend?"
My cheeks reddened in embarrassment and I nodded my head, "Yeah, its true," I confirmed with a smile playing at my lips.
A happy gasp left his lips and he hugged me close to his chest, "My baby sister is growing up so fast!" He mocked sobbing.
I looked over his shoulder and saw Hitoshi standing at the entrance to the kitchen, a slightly amused grin gathering on his lips. His eyes, however, told me that the call didn't consist of anything good.
Shou lifted his head and ruffled my hair, he then turned and immediately spotted Hitoshi. Shou wrapped his arm over my shoulder and leaned down, while staring Hitoshi down, and spoke.
"Ah, so this is the charming fellow who has captured my darling sister's heart?" He teased, watching Hitoshi's face go red and he looked away rubbing his neck.
My cheeks burned with embarrassment, "Y-Yeah," I admitted, flicking him with my ear.
He placed his hand on top of the ear to prevent it from flicking him any more. "Certainly a charming man, he is," He was doing this to get a reaction out of Hitoshi at this point, "I must say, it'll be hard to miss him in a crowd with that hair. It looks soft. Is it soft?"
By now, Hitoshi's cheeks were redder then ever. I couldn't help but smile, "Very," I responded.
"Shou," Shin'ichi began, earning out attention, "Leave the poor child alone, and leave Hitoshi alone as well," Natsumi snickered at Shin'ichi's joke.
I scowled at the older male, "I'm not a child!" I whined.
"You sure do act like one," Shou teased, ruffling my hair.
"Takes one to know one," I retorted, poking my tongue out at him. He flicked my ear rather roughly, causing my the flinch and grip the aching ear with a scowl.
Shou suddenly turned to Hitoshi and spoke, "Don't be scared to come closer. We don't bite," He informed seconds before throwing a pointed look towards me, "Most of us, anyway,"
Hitoshi smiled a bit before walking over towards us. Dad suddenly looked at Hitoshi and smiled at him, "Glad you're staying for dinner," He sounded a bit bored, but his smiled showed he was glad.
That's how Dairou was. His voice always sounded flat or angry, but his facial features always told people everything.
Hitoshi only nodded his head, before placing his hands on my hips and dragging me closer to him. He leaned down to my ear, "I need to talk to you," He mumbled, "Preferably after dinner," Hitoshi finished.
I tilted my head to look at him, worried, "I-Is everything okay?" I asked, growing nervous.
Hitoshi shrugged, "Its not about us, I promise," He stated, obviously seeing the worry and nervousness in my eyes.
I nodded my head before watching as Dad brought plates out with food on them. Usually on Sunday's he would individually cook someone's favourite food. Tonight was Shin'ichi's favourite, roast beef. Unfortunately, my least favourite.
I just hated the way it tasted. "I've already given your roast beef to Shin'ichi," Dad told me as he set mine down on the bar, where I ate.
Usually I was given the most side servings as I hated roast beef. I pulled Hitoshi over to the bar and sat on the stool, he copied my movements as Dad placed a plate in front of him. "Thank you, Mr Hikawa," Hitoshi said.
"Call me Dairou," He informed.

After dinner, Hitoshi decided to help me wash dishes. Chuckling every now and again when I would gag after having touched the food. He eventually forced me to switch, putting me on drying and putting up duty.
"So, what did you need to talking about?" I asked quietly as I put the cup back into its rightful place.
Hitoshi frowned slightly as he helped dry and put up the remaining dishes, "It's my parents again," He informed, "Their arguement has yet to blow over, and my dad wants me to stay here," He glanced at me, "I'd already told him about us,"
I slowly nodded my head, "Let me ask Dad, okay?" He only nodded. "DAD!" I called out, watching Hitoshi's eyes widen.
"WHAT?" Dad called from his room/office.
"CAN HITOSHI STAY HERE TONIGHT?!" Footsteps sounded down the hall and Dad looked at us with a curious look.
"Well, yeah, but may I ask what's wrong?" He looked at Hitoshi, who's cheeks were a deep shade of red.
"U-Uhm, its family stuff," He awkwardly explained, rubbing his neck.
A knowing look gathered on his face, "Well, make yourself at home, then. You're welcome to stay over if you need to. I presume you need to run home and grab some clothes," He guessed.
Hitoshi nodded his head. "Well, go do that, and if you need to shower, you're free to use ours,"
