"...time of death, 11:26 PM, November 28..."

Those words echoed in my head as I stared at the grim looking doctor. Tears welled in my eyes as I looked down, pain filling my chest. Masaru's hands clenched into a fist as he looked down. Dad was shattered, sobbing as he leaned against the wall and slid down.

Natsumi's injuries were far worse than what anyone had thought, and when her heart flatlined it seemed like the world just stopped spinning. Grandma Rio, however, made it out of surgery perfectly. Snappy, but perfectly.

I couldn't hold it back anymore. Sobs ripped from my body as I stood. My knees felt weak as I felt Masaru's arms wrap around my body, rubbing comforting circles on my back. Admittedly, I figured it would've been Grandma Rio who hadn't made it, but I was wrong.

Another pair of arms were wrapped around us, and I felt a brief kiss to the top of my head as Dad's colgone flooded my nostrils. I heard Shin'ichi and Shou crying silently, both of their heads lowered so we wouldn't see the heroes in such a vulnerable state.

After a long moment, Dad pulled away and spoke quietly, "I-I'll go break the news to the girls," He whispered, turning his head he looked at Shin'ichi, "Take them home, they're staying home from school tomorrow," He ordered.

Shin'ichi only nodded his head, tensing up as Dad hugged him tightly. After being released from his hold, Shin'ichi began to lead us out of the building. My ears and tail were drooped low as we walked in silence.

"Sh-Shin," I mumbled, grabbing his attention, "I w-want to go t-to Hitoshi's," I informed.

Shin'ichi only nodded his head, not having the energy or will power to argue with me. "We'll stop by the apartment so you can get a change of clothes," Was all he said.

The rest of the walk was quiet, and as soon as I got into the apartment I quickly sent Hitoshi a text telling him I was going to stay at his place tonight, which he had no objections to. I walked to my room, stiffening slightly as I passed Natsumi's bed and disappeared into the large closet. I grabbed a change of clothes and shoved them into a bag before walking into the bathroom and packing the necessities I needed.

Once I was done, Shin'ichi quickly told Masaru where we were going and followed me out the door. I was tired from the amount of crying I had done, so I didn't do anything to send the older male away.

"Does he treat you well?" Shin'ichi suddenly asked, looking down at me.

I glanced at him before nodding my head, "Yes," I replied, "He's a sweet guy,"

"So I've heard," Shin'ichi stated, "I'm glad he's the guy you decided to date. Considering he's been by you're side for...almost five years," Shin'ichi glanced up at the sky and a silence lingered in between us before he spoke once again.

"I'm sorry," He muttered, "I couldn't keep her safe,"

I looked at him quickly and shook my head, "Don't ever blame yourself, Shin'ichi," I snapped, "Its not healthy...besides..it was simply her time to go," I mumbled.

Shin'ichi shook his head softly, "I'm a hero, I'm supposed to be able-" The sound of skin on skin rang through the air.

I glared at my older brother, my hand tingling slightly from the slap I had delivered, "STOP BLAMING YOURSELF!" I yelled, tears threatening to spill from my heterochromic eyes, "BLAME THAT DAMN VILLAIN WHO KILLED HER!" I cried.

Shin'ichi held his cheek as he looked at me, his eyes wide in surprise. He only nodded his head. The rest of the walk was quiet and once we got to Hitoshi's house, I knocked on the door.

I heard slight thumps before the door opened, revealing Hitoshi. I turned my head to see Shin'ichi walking away, and then looked at the purple haired male. Hitoshi quickly pulled me into the living room and almost immediately I was wrapped in his arms.

I didn't hesitate to hug him back, burying my face into his shirtless chest. I struggled to not cry as he ran his fingers through my hair. He was still unaware of the fact that Natsumi was dead.

"Hito- oh, Kaede," His mothers voice met our ears, "Is everything okay?"

"No," Hitoshi answered for me, "Something's happened," He gave her the vague answer.

"Oh, I'm sorry sweetheart," She said, "You two are welcome to stay home from school tomorrow, just don't stay up to late,"

"Okay," Hitoshi peeled me away from him, "Goodnight, mom,"

Once we were in his room, Hitoshi had turned his back to me, giving me privacy so that I could change. I had changed into his shirt, and left myself pantless. When I was done, Hitoshi turned around and walked over to me.

He reached his head behind my hair and gently pulled it out of its ponytail. The purple eyed male looked at me, moving his hands to run his thumbs over the dry tear streaks as he spoke on a quiet voice.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked, looking at me.

I slowly nodded my head, "Y-Yeah," I whispered, my voice squeaking as a stray tear rolled from my eye. It was caught by Hitoshi's lips, and he pulled me closer to his body, wrapping his arms around me as he laid down on his bed.

He patiently waited for me to calm down enough to speak in complete sentences, busying himself by pulling the soft comforter over our bodies and then running his fingers through my hair.

Finally, when I was able to speak, I sucked in a deep breath a spoke, "N-Na-Natsumi..." I was having issues as I had started crying again, "Natsu-Natsumi's dead," The squeaky noise came back.

Hitoshi froze and he looked at me, "Sh-Shit baby," He breathed out after a moment and turned on his side, wrapping both of his arms around my body, "I'm so sorry," He whispered, pressing his lips onto my forehead.

I felt confused whenever I felt something wet hit my head. I moved back slightly and looked at Hitoshi. My eyes widened slightly seeing that he had started crying too. He noticed that I had saw him and waved me off.

"I-I don't seeing you cry," He mumbled, pulling me back into him, "That hits a nerve," He explained.
