The days in the hospital were long and boring. I spent most of my time trying to persuade the doctors that I was healed enough to go home and live normally, only to be scolded by Hitoshi.
So when the day came for me to get out, I was beyond excited. I slightly had to clean my wound daily, but I was getting out. I walked out of the hospital with a beaming smile on my lips and my eyes shining.
When I got home, the first thing I did was go straight into my room to clean the wound, locking the door as I grabbed the gauze and bandage. I peeled my shirt off of my body and tossed it onto my bed. Standing in front of the mirror, I looked over my form.
I realized I looked way different from last year. I was a bit more muscular from the excessive training we were put through during the hero courses, and I had bruises..some of which I had come to believe that were permanent.
Ckicking my tongue, I carefully unwrapped the bandaging around my body. My eyes widened seeing the wound. I had never bothered to actually look at it, and now that I did I realized why. It reached from the middle of my side and down to just above my hip. It was scabbed over with dried blood and it looked irritated around the ends of it.
Cringing upon the sight, I carefully spred gauze of the wound, wincing at the pain that flared through my body as I would accidentally reopen areas of the wound whenever smearing the clear substance on. After cleaning up some trailing blood, I rewrapped the wound.
"Kaede," I glanced up at the sound of my dad's voice, "I need you to do me a favour," He informed.
Slipping the shirt back over my forum, I quickly walked towards the door, unlocking it and pulling it open. Dad was standing there clad in his work suit. "What's up?" I asked.
"I gotta go into work, so I need you to watch Junko and Rei while Masaru finishes packing," He informed.
I had forgotten that now that Masaru was eighteen, he was moving out and in with his girlfriend, who had already had an apartment. His room was going to become mine as soon as he's out.
"Sure," I stated.
With a grateful smile, Dad pressed a quick kiss onto my head before leaving. I left the door open as I laid on the bed, scrolling through my phone. A sudden knock on the door made me glance up, seeing Hitoshi standing there with a small smile on his lips.
"Hi," He greeted, watching as I placed the phone on the night stand with a smile.
"Hey," I replied as he kicked his shoes off and climbed onto the bed.
"I didn't know you liked classical music," Hitoshi stated, referring to the music that was coming from my phone, "What's it called?" He asked.
"I don't. This song is an exception, and it's called Bella's Lullaby," I informed a bit proudly.
Hitoshi laid in a more comfortable next to me, propping his head up with his arm and looked at me. After a moment of silence, Hitoshi grabbed my arms and pulled me into his chest.
I smiled a bit shyly and hugged him as he pulled me on top of his body, still hugging me to his chest. After a moment he released me and spoke, "Some brown headed broad from your class told me she did yours and Tomiko's work," He informed.
He must've been talking about Ochaco, considering she was the only brunette, other than Tomiko, that I talked to. I only nodded my head in response and buried my face into his chest, remaining on top of him. I took in his scent with a smile on my lips.
"I missed you," I mumbled quietly.
"I missed you too," Hitoshi replied, pressing his lips to my head.
Unsatisfied with the petty kiss, I moved to press a kiss onto his lips. We hadn't given each other a real kiss in a while. Hitoshi smiled softly as he kissed me back, his hands moving to grip my hips.
Once we pulled away I smiled and rolled off Hitoshi's body, landing next to him with a smile on my lips. Hitoshi pulled me close to him as I grabbed my phone from off the nightstand. After a few minutes, Hitoshi spoke.
"This weekend, come over to my house," He offered, "Give your family a break from seeing me," He joked.
I chuckled softly and nodded my head at his words, "I'll make sure I'm clear," I informed, "But I think they like whenever you're here,"
Hitoshi simply shook his head with a small chuckle and didn't say anything else. The rest of the night carried on with complete silence, laying in each others arms with smiles on our faces.
