"Would you just trust me idiot?!" I screeched, handing the vile to Dan. He looked wary of the liquid but downed it per my request. Phil had already drank his and I watched him. Why wasn't it working yet?
I had practically bawled my eyes out to Ambriel to snatch the glass of his shelf it better work.
"Uh," I glanced over at Phil whose feet were swiping at the floor but they were resting in the air just an inch above like mine were.
"You'll get used to that," I said, glancing to Dan whose fingers had began to change first. He swiped at his solid body, his fingers passing through. He screamed and I shushed him. "Chill,"
"This is the craziest shit I've ever done,"
"I mean, yeah you're a frickin' angel now!" Phil called and I chuckled. I glanced over to see he was 3 quarters done. Dan's was faster than Phil and he was fully ghost like before Phil.
"Woah," he said, reaching out and expecting his hand to pass through my face. His palm rested against my cheek and my face felt warm.
"Angels can touch each other," I said, clearing my throat.
"Awesome!" He said, and I felt my stomach tighten. "It's weird you're actually warm!" I hummed in response and now noticed Phil was done.
"Okay, what are we angels for?" Phil questioned.
"Well, I was thinking we could go to a popular casino around here, everywhere else is kind of boring. We have a few days until this wears off," I said.
"Days?!" Dan asked, frantically.
"Yeah days," I replied. "Please don't tell me you are backing out. I do not want to go steal an antidote."
"No no, just didn't expect it to be for so long, I was thinking maybe hours," he explained.
"If it only lasted hours it would be useless." I said. "Well let's go."
"How do we even enter the angel land, afterlife? Ghost town?" Phil asked. I didn't answer, I just simply opened the portal, this time I specifically wanted it to open at the casino, so there was an image of a royal flush with some poker chips on the door. I grasped the door knob and entered, gesturing for the two to follow behind. Once they entered, the door closed and disappeared.
"Now, all that is left is suitable outfits," I said, turning to them. I walked them over to a spot in the casino labeled "changing rooms". "Just choose something from here to wear. It should be free so choose whatever," I said.
"Wait so they just give you free shit?" Dan asked.
"Well in the after life we don't really need to pay for anything down here, considering there's no uniform currency or jobs really, and it's free to make stuff." I responded. "Just go in, choose the components of an outfit, and then walk out, in your new clothes."
"Gotcha," he said. I walked into a room and browsed through the dresses. There was a nice but simple one. It was black, then faded into like a sunset, like the ones I have watched out of Dan's windows. I selected it, and for shoes just went with simple black heels.
I walked out with my outfit, and saw Dan and Phil waiting for me.
"Wow. (y/n) you look, stunning," Dan said, taking in my outfit. I felt my face heat up as a slight blush arose on my face.
"You don't look too bad yourself, Mister Howell," I complimented. He had a black undershirt, with a suit vest and matching pants, both also black. I turned to Phil. "Philly! Looking good!" I said. He was wearing a navy blue shirt, with black pants.
"Thanks! You look great!" he smiled.
"Well let's gamble I guess!" I suggested.
"I thought you guys don't use money?" Dan pointed out.
"Yeah but we still gamble. It's like, the only use for money. Because unlike they tell you, your wealth does still apply in afterlife," I answered.
"Oh. wow. So it's really not a utopia where there's a god who makes your afterlife amazing?" Dan asked.
"Nope. Not even close," I said casually. I had gotten so used to afterlife, the thought of a god and a glorious paradise was a joke to me.
"That's, kinda fucking depressing," he said, as we approached a roulette table.
"Very. Shall we play?" I asked.
"Uh sure. But I don't really know anything about roulette. Or gambling in general," Dan said.
"Yeah me neither," agreed Phil.
"Well, just follow my lead," I said. I got some chips and placed two 5 dollar chips on places 21 and 18. This time, I didn't win, but I showed Dan and Phil the basics. "But, this game is easy to lose money, and quick. We could play slots if you'd prefer?" I suggested.
"Uh sure?" Dan obliged. "Wait where is Phil?" he asked. I shrugged.
"We'll find him," I said.

We ran around the casino, playing lots of games, but something didn't feel right to me. Every 45 minutes or so, we were offered, or I'd say given, a small shot glass of a drink called "The Lotus". It didn't taste like alcohol, but it definitely wasn't normal. As I got to my 4th shot of it, I could feel something wasn't right. Dan and Phil were having a blast though, happily taking more. Then I figured it out. I checked my watch. Luckily, I managed to sneak it in, as they usually don't let you have them here, which should have been a red flag. Watches here tell you what day it is, not just the time. When we got here is was the 5th. My watch read the 8th. The Lotus wasn't just a speciality drink, it was like a drug. That makes you lose perception of time, days become hours, and clouds your thoughts with only gambling. But I guessed it wears off if you become aware, as I sure as hell wasn't being affected. I guessed it wouldn't hurt to enjoy some more gambling before trying to get Dan and Phil to snap out of it. When I noticed a familiar group walk in. it was Ambriel and his group of friends. Fuck. If he saw me with Dan and Phil, here of all places, I would basically be asking to be crucified. I needed to find Dan and Phil, in my deep thoughts I lost track of them.
"Dan?! Phil?! Where did you go?" I called out. With the immense amount of people, they obviously wouldn't hear me, but it didn't hurt to try.
I had been searching for a while. It was challenging having to avoid Ambriel while walking around. I had to awkwardly hide a few times, behind people, chairs, slot machines and more. Then, just as I spotted Phil a hand was placed on my shoulder.
