Sean's pov
Forest look extremely confused. After the paramedics came and got Jace I sat him down to explain."He was doing so good." Forest cried
"I know bud. Jace has been struggling with this for a while. He does really good for a while and then without warning he does this. I don't know why and it really does suck." I explained
"What if we lose him Sean? What if this time they can't save him?" Forest asked wiping his tears
"They will buddy. He'll be okay. I promise." I said hugging him
"Okay. Can we go meet Mark and Jace at the hospital now?" Forest asked
"Yeah, let's get Jace some stuff and go see him."I agreed
We grabbed Jace some cloths and I grabbed his binder and packer off the bathroom floor. I stuffed his stuff in a bag and then Forest and I went to the hospital. I send Matt a text so he knew where Forest was. When we walked in I didn't see Mark in the waiting room so I went to the desk.
"I'm looking for Jace Pierce." I told the lady
"Jace...let's see. Oh, here we are. He's in stable condition and is already in the mental health unit. Down this hall and to your left." She said kindly
"Thank you." I said as Forest and I made our way down the hall
As we turned the corner I saw Mark out with the doctor. I ran over to him and kissed his cheek.
"So, we're gonna keep him for a few days but I really think he'd benafit from haveing a sirvace dog." The doctor said
"You must be a phyciatrist or something." I said
"Yeah sort of. I talk to Jace every time he comes in here. I was just telling Mark that I think with all of Jace's mental health issues he may benafit from a sirvace dog. I'm just not sure what type of dog." The phyciatrist said
"A husky or a German Shepherd." Forest blurted out
"What?"Mark asked
"Jace always talks about how much he loves Huskys and German Shepherds. He definitely talks about Huskys more." Forest explained
"You must be Forest. Jace told me a lot about you. I'm Joey." Joey introduced himself
Forest smiled. "Is he awake?"
"Oh yeah. You can go see him." Joey said
Forest flew into Jace's room faster than anything. Mark followed him but Joey stopped me.
"Do you mind, Jace talks about you quite a lot more then Mark so I assume you two are close." Joey asked
"Not at all. What's your question?"
"Well, I just want to ask you about Jace's behavior. He does seem to have many mood swings, even for his age, and they're very intense." Joey pointed out
"Yeah, and?" I asked
"Well, I've tried asking Jace this question but it works him up every time, what happened with his birth father?" Joey asked
"Well....the file we received when we adopted Jace had a police report attached. Long story short Jace's ma died of cancer when he was young and then after that he was abused. Someone called the police and Jace was found in his room chained to his bed, naked, with belt lashes across his back. He's had mental health issues for years." I explained
"Wow. Okay. And I've notices some anxiety, depression and definitely some bpd. What do you think?"
"Yeah, that sounds about right." I agreed with Joey
"Okay. I have the perfect pup in mind for him. I want to give his a pup that's old enough that it's trained well but young enough he can still play with it, you know?" Joey asked
"I think he'd love that." I agreed
"Okay. I want to keep him here for the next few weeks while we train a pup for him." Joey told me
"That sounds fair to me. Mark, Forest, and I will probably be here a lot with some visitors." I told Joey
"Bring in as many as you'd like. I think Jace would love that." Jory said smiling
Joey and I said our goodbyes and I walked into Jace's room. Jace seemed very quiet and looked as if he was expecting me to yell at him. Instead I walked over and gave him a hug.
"I love you baby boy. Don't ever forget that." I told him
"Okay Pa." He smiled
"Sean, will you just tell him already." Forest sighed
It took me a second to clue into what he was talking about. "Oh, okay. Jace, we're getting a puppy! Well, you're getting a puppy." I smiled
"A puppy!" He shouted
"Yeah. Joey told us that he thought it was a good idea to get you a sirvace dog, so while you're here he's going to be training a husky puppy just for you." I told him
"The husky puppy was my idea." Forest giggled
Jace just smiled. It was probably the best smile I've seen from him. I decided to message Matt and let him know.
Me: Hey Matt.
Matt: How is he?
Me: He good. They're gonna keep him here for a few weeks to watch him. They're also training a husky puppy for him as a sirvace dog.
Matt: That'll be good for him. Hopefully it will help him out.
Me: Yeah, hopefully. How are the kids?
Matt: Anxious to come see if Jace is okay.
Me: Do you want me to come pick you guys up?
Matt: Maybe the smaller ones. Don't pick up Alex though. Those two don't get along.
Me: So I've heard. Do you work tonight?
Matt: Yeah. 12-12.
Me: Long ass shift. I can watch the kids tonight, I figure Forest will try to stay here.
Matt: okay.
Me: I'll be down in 10ish
Matt: Okay. See you soon Sean
I told Mark where I was going and what was going on then I went to the car. It's a car van thing, I just call it a car. I drove to Matt's place and picked up the kids. This involved installing one car seat and two booster seats for Liam, Dillon, and Zach. Quintin and Eilyn sat in the "back back" as they called it between Zach, and Callum sat in the front next to me. We drove back to the hospital after I messaged Mark to let him know. This could be interesting.
