Start to finish

Chapter 49

Jace's pov
It was Christmas. Forest and I were on the train on our way home for the holidays. Soon we were home and we were greeted by Sean, Mark, Matt, Callum, Quintin, Eilyn, Zach, Dillon, and Liam all waiting anxiously for us.

"Hey Liam, look at how big you are." I smiled picking him up

"How've you been Jace?" Sean asked

"Good, this whole year has been amazing." I smiled

"We have so much to tell you guys about." Forest smiled

When we made it home Forest and I went to our room and looked around.

"It's been so long." Forest smiled

"Yeah, there's definitely some things I want to bring back with me." I smiled looking around

"Yeah, me too. But let's enjoy our few days home. We won't be back again until summer." Forest reminded me

I just smiled as we left. While we were gone Sean and Mark finally did the house extension work they had been wanting to do and moved in Forests family to the house. Matt had moved out with his girlfriend so it was just the younger kids but all was well. Callum and Quintin shared a room, Eilyn had her own room, Zach, Dillon and Liam shared a huge room togeather. They all seemed pretty happy and Mark seemed ecstatic that he could have so many kids to entertain. I was now very excited to share my Christmas with everyone, and I think Forest was too. Soon it was time for supper. We all sat at the table and I was with my family for the first time in a long time.

"I missed you Jace." Eilyn said hugging me

"I missed you too honey." I smiled

"Why don't we go for a walk after supper baby?" Forest suggested

"Well, it would be more of a wheel." I laughed

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." He laughed

After supper Forest and I went and for the first time in a long time, I actually walked. We decided since it's been a while we would walk. We made our way down to the old park by our house. I will admit that it hurt to walk but at the same time it was nice. We sat down on the swings for about ten or fifteen minutes when I heard a gun shot fired. I watched as Forest dropped to the ground, lifeless. I jumped off my swing and sat by his side.

"No, no, no, this isn't fair!" I sobbed

I wrapped my arms around Forest's neck and sobbed. I heard another gun shot and then everything went black.

"Jace, wake up!" I heard a voice yell

I jolted awake noticeably sweaty and has tears streaming down my face. I turned my head to see Forest, he looked worried as hell but he was alive. I threw my arms around his neck and cried into his chest.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Forest asked worried

"I-I had a dream and we were Hogwarts students and, and then we came home for Christmas and went for a walk to the park down the road and then you got shot." I said sobbing

I felt Forest wrap his arms around my back as he tried to comfort me.

"Shhhh, were okay. We just got home from Disney the other night baby. Were here with Sean and Mark. Everybody is okay." Forest reminded me

I looked up at him and smiled. I wiped the tears from my face and kissed his cheek.

"How 'bout we go get some coffee? Go for a walk?" Forest suggested

"Yeah. That sounds fun. Are we actually gonna walk or are we gonna wheel?" I asked

"Whatever you wanna do baby. Could your hips handle a walk?" Forest asked
