Seans pov
"Mark!" I yelled

"What's up babe?" Mark yelled from my office

"My family's here." I said walking back the hall

"Alright. I'll be out in a minute." Mark said silently praying that his father wasn't here

Mark and I walked up to Jace's room to get him but he wasn't in there. I assumed he was already downstairs.

"Oh, there's the trans fag of the house!" I heard my father yell

"Guess that answers two of my questions." I said to Mark

We ran down stairs to see Jace and my dad in the middle of a fist fight and nobody knowing what to do.

"Jace!" Mark yelled

"Pa! What the fock!" I yelled

"Mark, fock off." Jace said taking another swing at my father

My father looked like he was getting his ass handed to him. I really wonder where that kid learned to fight some days. Jace took a strong blow to the lip, which really pissed him off.

"Call me a fockin trans fag. I'll fockin teach you to say t'at damn word!" Jace yelled his voice deeper than I've ever heard it

Jace gave my father one more hard blow right between the eyes, finally knocking him out.

"At least t'is trans fag can fight ye fockin aresehole." Jace said to Sean's dad, then walking, or, stumbling to the kitchen

I followed him. He was standing by the sink washing his lip.

"Let me look baby boy." I said feeling bad about what just happened

"It's just a lip dad. It's fine." He said blood running everywhere

"Jace, please." I begged

"Alright, fine. But it'll heal in a few days. I've had worse." He said letting me look

It was a pertty bad gash. It didn't seem like anything he hasn't had before though. My ma came in.

"Jace, my boy. Are you alright?" She asked

"Yeah. I'm alright Nan. It's just a small gash. Not'in I haven't had before." Jace assured her

"Your accent sounds so much like your dad's." Ma pointed out

"Yeah. I usually don't talk wit' and accent much anymore. Not unless I'm pisses, upset, or scared." Jace said

Ma just nodded and went to deal with Pa. Drunkin asshole he was.

"Sean?" Jace asked

"Yeah?"

"Why is your Ma still with him? He's a fockin areshole." Jace asked

"I'm not sure bud. I wish I had an answer for you." I said sadly

"Okay. Hey, Nan! Nan!" Jace yelled

"What's wrong bud?" She asked as she ran in

"Why are you still with him?" Jace asked very bluntly

Ma sighed and looked down. "I don't have a choice. Without him I'd have nothing. No house, no money." Ma said almost in tears

"Ma, you're always welcome here. If you wanna come down and stay then feel free. Mark and I will figure it out." I said. I'd never seen Ma like this

"That's a very nice offer Sean. But you know how your father is." She said looking to see if Pa was awake yet

"Alright Ma. But the offer will always be open." I said
