At first sight

Chapter 6

A 56 year old lady, who came in for an high fever of 40 degree celsius, was resting at the priority 2 area. The cause of fever was likely due to the respiratory tract infection, this was supported with her chest x-ray imaging.  

All of sudden, she began to have breathing difficulty. The nurses immediately check her respiration rate and oxygen saturation rate, while preparing for oxygen. Informing the doctor in charge, they noted patient has a past medically of asthma. However with all the symptoms she showed - her eyes swelling out and rashes appearing on her skin. It seemed to be symptoms of - 

"Anaphylaxis symptoms?" Evangeline questioned the doctor, while Dr Jane assessed the patient with a stethoscope. Logan immediately took her blood pressure, while Evangeline placed patient on oxygen. The blood pressure machine showed up '88/42 mmHg'. 

"Suspect anaphylactic shock. Prepare a shot of adrenaline and start her on adrenaline infusion after that. I will order some antihistamine infusion as well, let her take her salbutamol if possible to open up her airway."

Thankfully, everything went well and it seems like the cause of this anaphylatic shock was due to her newly found drug allergy to penicillin. 

It was a hectic shift, but as Evangeline looked at the bouquet of baby breath in her locker, her body immediately relaxes - her favourite flowers. She changed out into a simple shorts with tank top and headed out of the ER.

As she walked, her eyes met with this familiar pair of grey eyes, she was once again mesmerised. The sight of her hugging dearly to the bouquet of baby breathe brought a smile to Carl's face, he looked up only to find the girl staring at him. He was still wearing a mask so that others could not recognize him. 

Subconsciously they both walked towards each other, and they only snapped out of it when they were only one arm length away from each other.

Not knowing what to say, Evangeline blurted "Umm, hey, you were the patient that came in for chest pain isn't it?"

Shit! You mean after seeing my brother's good look, you can't even remember his name. Just what kind of girl are you? Almost all the female in the world knows him. 

Jerry kept his thought to himself as he heard what Evangeline said to Carl. He then proceeds to read out the script he had written for Carl.

"An urgent meeting came up yesterday and I have yet to have any chest pain after that. I actually feel much better after seeing you. I hope you like the flowers i sen-" Du.. Du... "HE ACTUALLY HANGS UP ON ME." Jerry called back immediately, he got the hint that his brother didn't like his pick up lines. This time, he is just going to listen and only help when Carl messed up.
