“Evans,  I don't want to let you go but I know that you have been waiting for this opportunity for quite a while now. You are a great person to work with, I believe you will do well there.”

Evangeline’s manager gave her a pat on her shoulder and handed her a letter.

Evangeline took a deep breath as she unfolded it.

‘Thank you for taking interest in wound care. We are pleased to announce that you have been offered the position of Staff Nurse in our country's very first wound ward.

Please find attached the terms and conditions of your employment in the envelope. Should you accept this offer letter, we would like to have your response by xx/xx/xxxx. In the meantime, please feel free to contact Ms Kelly via email, if you have any questions.

Lukeworth Hospital

who you are makes a difference’

Evangeline had gained interested in wounds ever since she was young.  Evangeline was extremely active when she was young and often injured herself.  She also enjoyed tending to one's wound after she injured them in a fighting match or after they came back from a gang fight. Gunshot wound,  stab wound, abrasions, burns etc. They seem extremely interesting to Evangeline.

Initially she chose to get into the Emergency Department to gain knowledge and experience on emergency and first aid care,  but now she feels that she is ready to be specialized in wound care. When Evangeline heard that Lukeworth was preparing to open the first wound ward ever,  without much thought she applied for it immediately after seeking advice from her nurse manager. In which her nurse manager aids her in the process of application.

After accepting the offer,  they had to go through a week compulsory wound course.  This is for them to gain better understanding on wound care to aids in the patients’ recovery.

On the last day of the course,  after their lunch break, they had all return to the learning lab.

“OH MY GOD OH MY GOD,  guys! Our boss is coming!!” Cheryl shrieked.

“I guess you all heard the news then,” nurse manager Grace walked towards the group of nurses and announced calmly.

“Don't worry,  they will simply say hello and encourage all of you. Just be alert and don't say the wrong things,  understand?”

“Yes sister.” Everyone replied in union, they could not help but to be stressed on the situation.

Before they could even calm themselves down,  they could heard the footsteps echoing in the corridor.

A lady and man with powerful aura entered the room with their assistants.  The lady wore a orange formal dress with a black blazer and orange heels, her blonde hair tied back tightly into a ponytail. Her makeup was on point and she looked like she is at her early 30s.  Beside her was man with distant aura, he looked cold but incredibly handsome.

“Conner?” Shocked,  Evangeline accidently slipped out his name. She looked around after she realised her carelessness.  Thankfully, no one heard that. On the corner of her eyes she saw the shocked expression on her nurse manager face.  It looks like Grace did not expect Carl to come.

Lukeworth..  worth.. hallsworth?!  Evangeline now realized that this hospital was actually under Hallsworth Corporation and regretted not doing any homework on her new work place. Evangeline’s brows furrowed a little as she watches the other girls were ogling over Carl.

“Hello everyone,  and I'm the CEO of Lukeworth hospital, you can call me Amy.” The orange lady approached them with a smile, she then turned to look at Carl, who remained expressionless as always. “This is Mr Carl Hallsworth,” her eyes lingered on him for awhile before she continued “I know some of you were previously from another hospital, so welcome to our hospital. As we is trying to expand its care, we realised the amount of people requiring wound care are increasing, therefore we seek for nurses who are interested in wound care to join us in opening this ward. I hope all of you will learn a lot in Lukeworth hospital, and together let’s make a difference in our patients’ lives. Let's work real hard to make it happen.” She then turned to Carl and said sweetly,  “Mr Carl?” This definitely earned a frown from Evangeline.

Carl took two steps forward without sparing a glance at Amy.  His powerful aura made everyone nervous.

“Talk less,  do more. Never get so busy making a living that you forget to have a life.  Welcome.” He started in a monotonous manner,  but ended up with a mild cheerful tone, staring straight at the lady that he loves. Evangeline managed to stop a blush from rising,  and acted like she was simply an employee listening to her boss attentively.

A hint of smile appeared on Carl's face as he walked away along with Amy and their assistants.
