At first sight

Chapter 5

Other than the clerk who registered Carl, no one in the hospital knows that the someone from the Hallsworth family actually came to the hospital. Just when she thought this is a chance for a great gossip, she remembered how people who spread gossips on the a Hallsworth family ended up in misery. That's how powerful the Hallsworth are, so why did Mr Carl Hallsworth came here instead of their own hospital?

Of course, a few seconds after she registered Carl, someone, seemingly to be Carl's assistant, came up to her with some cash. She got the hint immediately and kept her mouth sealed.

"Evans, that's so weird!!! You know that guy? that guy you brought to my area for further observation today? He was sooooo charismatic, I bet he is actually super good looking, I couldn't wait to see his face without the mask.He has such cold but pretty eyes, and with his fashion sense... wow.  But right after you left, he just left the ED. Was he lost? Isn't that weird?" Angie blabbered non-stop during dinner. 

Evangeline laughed as her friend continues to talk, she couldn't recall seeing a pair of cold grey eyes though. Of course she is curious how does he looks like, but to her, he is just another patient. A patient with beautiful eyes, and indeed handsome looking. Angie commented on how lucky Evangeline was, for being able to see his face. 

"You know, you have a boyfriend."

"No, I don't. I don't have one... today." Angie replied Evangeline, with a cheeky smile and continued to blabber on.

Before she heads to work, Evangeline received bouquet of 88 red roses, without looking on the card attached to it, she threw the card away. She took out the rose one by one and brought them to work. Placing them on the registration counter, she smiled as she told the clerk that to gave it to random patient to make their day.  She knew who sent the roses. 88 roses - a big apology.  

After changing into scrubs, she spotted another bouquet of flower, it was not as fancy as the rose bouquet.  There are baby breathes in various pastel colours, she saw the little card attached to it, she flipped it over and saw her name neatly written on it - Evangeline.  She held on to the flowers with a smile before placing them in her locker. She wonders who was it from.

"Who was it from?" 

Evangeline sighed knowingly and ignored his question, she then stood in front of the mirror to tie her hair. Ignoring Logan's intense stare from the mirror, she questioned "Don't you think you are a little too much, it has been four years, can't you just give up? I can't tell if you are loyal or..." She wanted to say the word stupid but she didn't want to hurt him, she smiled then continues, "you followed me to nursing school, and you even study to become a nurse. My decision will not change, so ask that old man to stop wasting your time." She walked out of the room before Logan could reply.
